Talking to a mechanic the other day and he reckons No 2 bigend is on the way out. Am I better off trying to replace the worn parts or buy a second hand crank with rods attached?. A new assembly from the states is $4000. Second hand from pommy land is $400.

My next question is, does anyone have one, or know of one for sale.

Does anyone know anyone who would repair mine. The crank will be removed from the bike by Mark with me holding the spanners and handing him the ones he needs (because I'm really good at doing that)

Thanks in advance for your help

Terry

For 4K I'd say your thinking of a falicon, ps don't do it
Is the 400 including postage as that is what kills on cranks
There are two people in Brisbane that specialize in air cooled cranks
and normally have spare part as well as rebuilds. One happens to be a close

If I send a 1000 virgins around to your place, do you think you could pass on the name of your friend who is the crank repairer
Cheers

I know that this is down in Mexico and if Lynton's contacts don't deliver but my 11 ET crank had a rooted No. 2 main bearing and I got mine repaired for under 1K. It included new bearing, new end taper off of an EFE indexed, pinned, balanced and welded,. Very happy with the end result and for a reasonable price considering the work involved.
It was done by Billy at T Rex Racing here in Melbourne.
Rex may have a spare crank lying around too.
