I wasnt sure where to post this so si feel free to move it to where it should be.I was just wondering if someone could tell me what 750 was best suited for a oil boiler 1100 as i have a l model 1100 that has been sitting round for years so that most of the running gear is rooted but the motor is still good thank you.

Hey mate, most people did this around the time of the Slingshot, so as long as you have a oil cooled 750 frame you should be sweet (1988 - 1992). The height was the main difference and made it trickier to get the rocker cover off, but not impossible.

Thanks mate i might be better just keeping the motor as a spare
for my 89 model work in progress. It was just a spur of the moment crazy thought.thanks again

It's well worth doing if you have the time and inclination!

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on here for a while.
Just been flat out with a whole stack of other stuff.
I think last time I was on, I was trying to repair my very broken (GSXR 1100 powered) race car.
It broke a rod and made a mesh of just about everything.
Anyway, all back together now and going better than ever.
Here is a link to some recent video for those interested:

Back to the real subject.
I am looking at helping to do a 7/11 conversion on my son's GSXR750J track bike.
Here is a pic of the bike with the race car, a couple of years back.

We have a lot of bits to build an 1100 motor but not all.
We don not have a specific 1100 ignition box. Does anyone know part numbers of ignition modules that will work correctly.
Also any ideas on where to source one.
I think we will also need to find a clutch and starter motor as well.
I will try to post a separate note in the wanted area.
Cheers
Peter.

Dyna used to make one, not sure if they still do.
You can use the 750 ignition box from memory, it has a higher rev limit than the 1100, which can be good or bad, depending on the state of tune of the engine. I gave the last of my Gixxer bits to Yella a few years ago.

Thanks.
Yep. Not a big fan of lots of revs on an 1100. They do break, eventually, given a lot of over stressing.
It's hard to get a great deal of power beyond 11,000 rpm with big bore kits.
I would like to pick up an original ignition box if I can.
If anyone has the advance curve data for these engines, I could probably make a computerised ignition module.

Would the Dyna details help at all? http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/downloads/instruct/DDK3-3.pdf
