Hi gents !

i'm going to start my tl1000s build soon and was wondering if anyone managed to get 2005+ sv1000n or sv1000s clusters to work on the tl1000s.

i've read from tlzone that a member managed to get a 2003 gen 1 cluster to work from the sv1000.

thanks in advance guys

Welcome mate!
Any reason why you want to use that dash rather than a smaller / tidier aftermarket type?

hey buddy !

i'm looking for a cagiva raptor cluster or a suzuki one as they will be able to retain all the functions of a normal cluster with minimal work and costs ?

which cluster are you running on your setup brother ?

thanks for getting back to me too

Sorry mate, there's not a lot of advice I can give with the new techno dashes as I'm riding a 25+ year old bike. One cable is all we had! As for what type that is, well it's a Motogadget from Germany: http://motogadget.com/en/digital-instruments/digital-dashboard-pro/motoscope-pro.html

But there are shot loads more aftermarket ones if you are interested: http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/

You'll have to wait for one of the guys with a modern bike with fault diagnosis to arrive to get the answers you're looking for.

Cheers

Hey bud, I run an Acewell 3963 and have found it to be pretty good. They have a pretty big range to choose from so you should be able to find one that works for you.

thanks for your advice slim!

does the acewell gauge show everything for your tl1000s except for the fuel light and throwing engine codes ?

was it easy to install ?

i'm not as pro as you guys thats why i thought it would be easier to buy a gsxr or tlr cluster and just change a few pins around

Sorry, may have led you astray a little bit, mines an early R6, not TL. Having said that there is not much these things cant do.

Nothing pro about my work, I just stumble along like most. A wiring diagram of your bike makes things a lot easier. I just did an online search for a wiring diagram for my model of bike then went to the local newsagency and had it enlarged to A3 and then had it laminated.

The dash comes with instructions which have been pretty clear for me to understand.

I'm putting a gsxr1000k1 dash on my busa at the moment.
I have the two clock wiring looms
and getting the diagrams and going from there.
I have done it before and worked fine
only thing I lost was fuel guage.
can't see a problem for you
if you go this way.

I'm running a KOSO dash on one of mine.
Not cheap but a quality bit of kit.
Working fine after a few years in rain and heat.

Well made, good instructions, lots of options / functions.
White or black faces, different rev scales etc etc.
Programable Pre-shift and shift lights, remembers highest speed / revs from the trip counter,
No glue'ing on magnets, counts the disc brake bobbins or sprocket bolts.

Only thing I don't have is the original Suzuki fault code options.

I think mine are the RX-2N or similar.

http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2n-10k-white-485-p.asp

I got them from the UK
(You don't pay the UK's 20% GST)

They are on my GSX1400 so I didn't want a silly 20,000rpm clock
and went for the 10,000 rpm one that suits the motor.

for anyone that is stuck. i went with a gsxr1000 k1/k2 cluster. will allow you to retain all the features and functions of the tl1000s speedo

all good buddy !!

there's actually alot more too it.

you have to rearrange the wires on the tl1000s plug to match the gsxr1000 cluster

and do some work on the cluster.

Did you put that together or has someone else done this before and you found it? Either way, nice work.
