Im more of a fan of building than buying and aside from paint (which ends up being a 3D coating rather than a glass smooth finish), do almost everything else myself.

I usually join these sorts of forums for the fab sections to get ideas and appreciate other peoples work. I'll throw a couple of pics up to get started but would love to see what others have done or are currently doing.

These pics are my top triple clamp. I couldnt find an aftermarket one so I strengthened a spare I bought. Also I was using MX bar risers and wanted a solid mount for them to attach and minimise flex. They ignition key mount was also removed.

2 wheel related, just no motor. Simplifying the missus's MTB gears wise. Turned it into a single speed at the front and made a bash guard for it. She is keen to weld and fab so I set her up on the plasma to cut the guard out then I spun it up on the lathe to finish it off. Nothing complicated about it but now she can ride it knowing she had a hand it making it.

Yeh too easy then mate. It was a taxi rank in the centre of Melton. Had to fab all 60 of the steel boots to support the timber beams, which were 450x90mm lvl beams. Feckin heavy too. Was over 150 mortices cut into the beams with chainsaws so all of the plates were recessed and hidden. Bloody agricultural way of working with chainsaws...lol. Was a good job in the end74047405

This is another building resto done last year. We built an ultra modern office on one of the oldest buildings in town. Hand folded sheetmetal weatherboards, with Laser cut core 10 panels suspended off them. Bit of a pain in the ass considering it was all done with harnesses over the top, which is 4 storys up.

easy, easy, easy, BAM!, fuck I missed, throws hammer across the room. haha

Those spring loaded push centre punches are great. They don't leave the biggest mark in harder steels but I can live with that, can always go over a couple if needed.

What's the thickness of that, I made mine from 3mm 5083.. one on each side so it's a chain guide as well as a bash guard.

We started out with 10mm plate and then faced and stepped to suit the crank arm mounts. Probably about 6mm thick guarding the sprocket. Should be heaps for the riding she is currently doing. Due to the BB height Its unlikely she'll hit anything anyway. We mounted a roller chain guide after the pics were taken.

Yours came up well.

It's very different though bud, I couldn't do what you do..
And there is really nothing to it, it's just lots of little bits to make up one big bit.
Plus a shit load of research to make sure the little bits are right.. this one is upgradable to 4000hp by bolting on some extra parts.. this was a big design job ..
