After watching this vid a few times, I decided I need one more project.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX4fCTO44Ic

I dug out a few spare kart parts, bought a big wheel front end and borrowed a H*nda plant.

By the way, what front wheel and tyre is that? Looks a bit like a Specialized Fatboy, but different: http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/fatboy

There are shartloads of them for cheap on evilbay. Search for "fat bike" (to scared to see what would happen if I searched for that outside of ebay)

NEW 2015 REID MONSTER 20" KIDS FAT BIKE - 7-Spd Shimano, Disc Brakes (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-2015-REID-MONSTER-20-KIDS-FAT-BIKE-7-Spd-Shimano-Disc-Brakes-/171923005195?hash=item280768df0b:g:5OMAAOSwhkRWe38 q)

I was given a pair of sleeves yesterday, but they're for a 10" dia front tyre and my rear tyres are 11". I've seen where some guys run the front tyre on a rear wheel for that stretch look, so hopefully we can work something out.

I got the wheel/tyre/forks etc from this guy-

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fat-Bike-Wheel-26-x-102mm-wide-Rim-135mm-QR-hub-Fatbike-Wheel-/252242271425?hash=item3abacf9cc1:g:V3YAAOSw~ZdVfUr x

The ad says 26" wheel, it's only 24", but 4" wide with a 4.5" tyre so the whole thing tops out at about 30".

Going to have to shorten the headstem so I can see over it.

So I bent up a set of frame tubes. Then bent up a second set when I worked out the bends were wrong.

http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad212/Richard065/001_zpsrzwrs3qr.jpg

Anyone remember Sine/Cos/Tan?

http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad212/Richard065/003_zpsx1rdzzgo.jpg

So many angles to work out where to cut the frame tubes for the headstem.

ozzy1100
23-01-2016, 03:55 PM
those angles are a complete bitch to do, its so bad to hand cope one side but when you do the other to match it turns to dog
fucked pain in the arse lol
looks cool as tho

Frame is mostly done- still needs the brake master cyl mounted- so I put on some Rustoleum to stop it rusting in this humid air.

Possibly, but this one is a suck it and see/proof of concept frame.

Hopefully get it running around the complex in a week or so, although the managers(cunts) put a load of speedhumps in last week (The worst one was installed right in front of Ben's) so might have to travel to a new test track.

Will be interesting to see how that goes.

28-04-2016, 07:58 PM
how much are you selling frames for mate

Large
29-04-2016, 09:14 PM
Not actually building them to sell.

After the booze wore off, we've got three blokes collecting parts for their builds.

Prolly start knocking up frames in a week or so.
