Been lurking on here a little while and thought it was time I registered and said hello. I own a stock 2000 CBR929 and have decided that its time to change it up a bit and make my daily commute a bit more interesting.  I use the bike as a daily rider so will keep the bike fairly stock. I have just ordered a riser bar kit for it which should arrive in the next couple of weeks, the plan is to fit the risers, tidy up the back end a bit with an undertray and get rid of the large plastic number plate holder, take off the fairings and fit a single headlight and then maybe look at painting it.
I am bound to get stuck and start asking silly questions along the way so apologies upfront for that !! Once the bars come I will start a build thread and take a few photo's along the way.

Here are a couple of pics of my old SV that I played around with back in the UK. Hopefully the blade can come out as good as this.

Welcome aboard mate. My spider senses tell me that you cut and pasted your intro from another forum as well. Just curious as to which one? I'm chasing a few ideas for this forum, that's all.

I guess you already saw this thread as well yea?

There's a few 929s in there.

Your senses may be a bit off or you had too many cans mate. I had a problem with the first post because I had 2 sessions of the site open and had to cut and paste my post back into itself. Hence the funny characters above. I have seen that post and will no doubt spend lots of time looking at it and dreaming. Sorry I can't help with another forum for new ideas mate.

Ahh, ok. Well I guess I got the pasted part right? Too many cans at 10:34am is saved for weekends.

No dramas mate. Cheers.

The forum software mate. It hasn't been updated for 4 years now and mobile phones have taken over so the forum needs to be mobile friendly (which this currently isn't). Not to worry though, since I wrote this I have found some software that might fit the bill. Looks like my Christmas holdiay will be a stressful one!

Comfort kit from Ausfr arrived last week, been flat out at work so had to wait a week before I could fit it. Got most of it done today between playing with the kids and doing job for the misses. Just finished bleeding the brakes, going to check them again in the morning, put the side fairing back on then will take it for a test ride. It's not a fighter yet but pretty excited about getting the bars done.

Took it for a quick spin this morning and what a difference. :-)

It really is amazing how a set of bars can transform a bike. I have more jobs to do on the bike but as it is my main mode of transport I am restricted to jobs I can do and finish in a weekend. Think the overall transformation is going to take a while. Just happy it has started. :-)

Changing from clip-ons to handlebars, the change is like night and day.

Just did the same on the Mrs's VFR800 and it feels so much lighter
