I'm after a cheaper alternative than an aftermarket job to keep the back wheel of the MT09 where it belongs. an 08-09 ZX10R shock is preferred but I could also get away with a shock from a 05-06 zx6r/zx6rr/zx636.

A gen1 hyabusa shock may also work from what I've read so if Anyone has one of those lying around gathering dust there's a good chance ill throw money at you to part with it

if you can measure the the eye to eye length on the shock, the gen 1 busa's were 330mm which is what I'm after. If its the right length i'll take it off your hands

it measures 325 mm eye to eye thought it was supposed to be 330 mm so i wonder if it could be off a gsxr 750 i bought it off ebay from US it was supposed to be off a busa

Thanks mate but I reckon I may give that one a miss If anything the arse needs to be lifted so I could live with a little longer but probably not shorter

It's just above my swingarm. Easy to find.

I got it from stoltec in the US. I reckon it's a bit harsh, but I've lost about 10kgs since I got it, so that might be it.

But compared to the OEM one, it is fucking awesome. The rear shock made more a difference than the front. It meant I wheelie on purpose, instead of by accident as it squat down under hard (or soft) acceleration. It made the headlight point the right way, as it sat properly when I was on it. It's really good, but if you can get any equivalent (Wilbers/ohlins/racetech) valved/sprung for how you ride it'll make a massive difference.
Or get a cheap zx shock and get it revalve resprung for your weight.

so I found an 08 ZX10 shock this morning, even used the credit card to pay for it, then seen the post about an earlier model shock the right length for a 100 rods cheaper. you win some you loose some:(
