Bloody brilliant day yesterday. Spent time with a guy who built a 5000cc V-twin motorbike and an 8000cc V10 engined bike,
then another guy who had a Rolls Royce turbine powered 230mph bike!! and a V8 bike. Chap spent ages talking me through it.

Had a lump in my throat watching a war veteran with no legs below the knees being helped onto his race bike at the start line. Amazing.

A brilliant end to a holiday that started two weeks ago at Silverstone watching Rossi win in the rain against the young Spaniards who were favourites.

Flights home this evening after a bloody great holiday.

Pics when I get home.

This thing was bloody amazing.

Zef's spent ages talking me through the V8 bike, from the amazing electrics,
to the anti squat rear, constant chain tension, hidden rads, stacked gearbox,
clutch access, adjustable gearing but never changing the rear sprockets, etc etc.
Much more high tech than the turbine and he has a real passion for its development.

Race bike with the owners lower legs.
Once he attached his false legs the foot pegs had bolt pointing up and
the boots had holes they stayed where they were put.
Guy lost both legs to a land mine in Afghanistan.

Went to Silverstone two weeks before to watch Rossi teach the Spanish Dwarfs
how to ride in the rain. Didn't take too many pics and the ones I did aren't great,
but.....

The 3rd loudest thing there was a MotoGP bike. FARK! They are loud.

The 2nd loudest thing was the cheer when Marquez fell off.

The loudest thing was the crowd when Rossi won.
I swear the Pommies must think he's English.
They bloody love him.
Never seen a rider get so much support from the crowd.

Bloody brilliant. You lucky Git! Getting to go to a pub in Cornwall, almost brings a tear to my eye that. Can't believe you got to meet Allan and Zef. Read heaps about them, especially Allan. I would love to see any of his creations inthe flesh, eespecially the v12 z1300 he built. Like Si said, what event was all that at Tony?

Allen and Zef's were at the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb "Bike Festival"

It's near Stourport in the Midlands.

It's the oldest Motorsport location in the world still in operation.

Can't thank Zef's enough for taking time out to talk me through the V8 bike.
It wasnt the biggest east head turner there, but it really was the best built
and most high tech. He's a top bloke and very friendly and helpful, he said
he likes Aussies and they have the right mind set and attitude... LOL

Nice to see the post "Coming Home" from a POM!

I always wonder what it would be like that it becomes so bad in the place where you were born that you need to relocate to another country.

In saying that one reason just got sacked yesterday!

My passport and driving licence both say I'm Australian.
Its my "home", just not my country of birth.

40 years in the UK, 11 in AU,
10 trips back and forwards in the last 15 years.
Both country's have their strong and weak points, good and bad.

I live somewhere I prefer to be, a huge difference from a "need to locate"
unlike many poor buggers overseas at the moment.

Can you do a bit of a write up on Zef's V8 bike please?
Is the rad under the engine with the air scoop?

Did you time the waves and run like fuck to get to the pub haha.
