Digital dash temp sensor

Hey all. I recently purchased a Vapor Stealth for for my blade. The inline temp sensor fitting is too small and I was thinking of replacing it with a radiator fin mounted sensor. Has anyone used one and how accurate is it?? I was thinking this would be a much easier and neater solution than sourcing the correct rad hose fitting.

Also, does anyone know the thread size for the factory sensor which screws into the head?? I could fit it directly to that if this works.
