Some years ago I bought a VTR1000 from a shop. On the way home the motor stopped on me. Turns out it had very little oil in it (about 300ml) and of course this was my fault cause I should have checked it before I jumped on it. Anyway put a new motor in rode it around for 3 years and sold it again. So now I have this 1000 V-twin sitting in my shed looking like this...

Now I was told that I had spun the main bearings. Too me this didn't sound like a big deal but that is why I am posting...to ask if motor can live again?

I cannot see lots of damage but I am not overly mechanically minde so I will post some pics of what I think might be areas of concern. Mostly just the blueing off of area's around the bearing where it has obviously got hot.

Get the crank machined and whack in over-sized bearings, if they make them(?)
Could or should get the crank balanced while you're at it.

Cheers, I will look into it. Just need to source some carbs and she'll be right.
