So whats the go with getting a clean tacho reading from an Acewell? Ive got the yellow tach wire to the acewell spliced into cylinder 1 signal wire just before it gets to the coil but the reading is jumping all over the place. Tried all the different SPC settings but no joy.

I connected the yellow wire on mine to the gauge tach wire on the original loom. Not sure if that makes a difference for you but my signal was steady. 2000 ZX9r by the way.
Pretty sure I got a resistor with my Acewell to wire in if the signal was jumpy but I never needed it. No idea what resistance it was, but it was a 1/2 watt resistor.....probably 1 ohm?

Don't you just use the original tach input from the old tacho?Should be a lot cleaner stable signal than reading off the coils
