I am putting together a friends r6 and I am wanting to know what size the common hex head bolts are. By common, I mean the most often used across the fairing, which is not an M6 ( I ordered a set of M6, and they are too large). I am thinking they are an M5, but I couldn't find a similar type at bunnings (just to check the thread type). Any help much appreciated!

go to a bearing shop with a bolt or nut and ask them. would be the easiest way to find out.

I'd also avoid Bunnings like the plague for bolts as they are usually shit quality. Support a local guy and hit up a nuts and bolts joint instead (take what you have with you and they'll give you the exact thing you need also). Something from here maybe:

I was at Bunnings to get a nut for the back of the horn. They have nothing that even closely resembles a fairing fastener. I was just using the metric thread tester they had. Nothing worked.

Thanks for the link!
