Riding down the freeway at 120kph yesterday and an object appeared from under the car in front. I couldnt take evasive action and the object was flung up from my wheel, damaging the header. The dent is approx 35mm long, 5mm deep, and the split itself is approx 12mm long. I am wanting to know if it is possible to repair it? Even if welded, will the dent disrupt flow causing any loss of power etc? I would just go ahead and fit new headers, but my muffler is welded on to the headers as it is a custom set up, and I also have them wrapped. I would like to avoid replacing them completely if I can!

If it's metal it can be welded, personally I wouldn't be too worried about loss of flow for a small dint/tear like that.

Same here.
Weld it up and forget about it.

You're probably lucky it hit your bike, imagine what it would've done to your leg....

The photo doesn't do the gouge justice! If it hit my foot it would have broken it for sure!
