Hey guys ive been lazy and havn't done much lately. Sold the rs125, bought the wife a new car and am now hunting for my next project (im in the good books now, Yay hyundai!! :D ). Looking at a "crashed" (minor scratches, dent in tank) 07 sv650, 3500klms. Any thoughts on these bikes?

SV650 overall are a nice bike and respond well to a few mods mainly rear shock replacement with a ZX shock and upgrade of front fork internals.
Have a look here for your SV veiwing pleasure.

SV's are ok

depending how hard you ride, the engine isnt the strongest and there are oil pick-up issues during wheelies/flooring it out of slow corners

Im a big fan of them.
Very under-rated.
Check out the "mini-twin" racers from the UK.
Had some great fun chasing Joe "CrazyMoFo" on his as he
kicked lots of bigger bikes arse's..[8D]

What sort of money would the dented 07 be ?
I'd buy a cheap one but they hold their value too well to
be in Sasha's price range.

Love the SV.
You will be lucky to find many dented ones though I think??? May be different over there. I had a '99. One of the first models and put 78000 k's on it in 12 months and it didn't miss a beat. Decent set of pipes and you'll be turning heads straight away!

At that price it should be sat in the garage by now !

I would have snapped it up if its as good as you say.

Is it on any insurance lists ?
Damaged repairable / etc ?

yeah its a repairable write off, listed on revs. You clear that title by writing a stat dec on what youve fixed and a blue slip, piece of piss :D

True,

But I still dont think it would be sat around here long at that price.
A new 07 model is still close to $10k rideaway, and second hand
SV's hold their price well.

I agree with you there Tony, Joe has his sorted very well, I couldn't keep with him at upper Beechmont, yeah, nothing wrong with the 650 at all..

that tail is REALLY droopy looking

i'd say the rear subframe is probably going to need replacing (hopefully the mounts on the chassis are ok)

its its been running upside down then the engine will be stuffed, but the newer EFI ones would most likely have a tip-over switch on em ;)
