My Harris is about to rid itself of its last major hurdle, the electrics. It is about to undergo a complete rewire.

Part of this process is the need for a new dash unit and I am looking for some advice about both form and function.

I have been running a Veypor unit, it is in a brushed aluminium case which looks great on the bike, has a digital gear indicator (which I love) but is let down by a flimsy fucking wiring loom that leads to constant problems.

Here is the bike as it stands now (except for recently added Woodcraft clipons)

and here's a pic taken during the original build to give an idea of the dash set up

I need a good quality, new dash with idiot lights

Any ideas

Custom bike , Dare I say it "Custom dash" personally off the shelf on a Harris just seems wrong. Grab a stock dash off something you like the gauges "look" and make it your own ? I took a stock intergrated dash (taco speedo fuel temp idiots) cut it all up and fitted the lot into 2 stockish ag bike round housings. Looked great for the bike it was going on.

Not suggesting you go that way, but perhaps something modded from a stock setup ? Cost effective and already tested and works well.

Having had my Harris for 30 years I have learnt the hard way with Electrics.

The only way is the right way.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WIRE WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN QUALITY OEM STYLE FITTINGS AND PLUGS !

Yes I was shouting!

Yep, the instruments are one thing you just can't skimp on.
Buy the absolute best unit you can afford and it will save you a shit load of problems.
