I am chasing a 16inch front wheel and have been told that some of the early fireblades had them. Can anyone tell me if this is true and what width they were/ what size tyre they run.
Cheers, Jason

Tis true. Ran a 130/70 I think....ended up as about the same rolling diameter as a 120/70 17. Can't say for sure what width they were. Some say they front wheel choice was responsible for alot of early 'Blades going down so often.

They used to turn really fast with the smaller wheel and the usual crash cause was monster power (for the time the power to weight ratio was unreal) and oversteer. I personally loved it but a lot of guys changed for the 17" wheel off the CBR600. Mine was the first '92 model.

Have 1 here if you want it,no discs .
was going to do the small wheel conversion on my dragbike but can get a similar size low profile 17 without the mucking around.

Thanks for the offer booster, but I have decided to stick with the wheels I have. What 17 tyre did you end up running with?

They ran 16" right up until 99 then the 929 went to 17".

When i did the swap on my old blade it was off a VTR1000 and the tyre i ran was 120/60 17 and it was sweet as.;)
