Following in the footsteps of our very own Tony Nitrous in showing that one person can never have too many toys at one time, I have acquired another B12 that is as stock as the proverbial rock because whats better than one Bandit to play around with, well 2 right?

Not sure on my plans as of yet, but I think I might keep the boxy old headlight and fairy surround as I don't really mind them to be honest. Maybe just prod and poke until I come up with something, I have a complete TL1000S front end in the shed that I might throw on but for now not sure..

So turns out I think I bought a lemon..

So I found the right underside engine mount had a hairline crack in it about a day after I bought the bike, well I thought to myself hmmm well they hang these motors from Spondon and Harris frames (Obviously they're stronger than the noodle bandit frame) she'll be right I'll weld that up one day..

Well turns out she won't be right and I've been noticing a rattle from the front sprocket general area and after a quick ride into town today I noticed the crack had got noticeably bigger so I checked all the other mounts had not moved which they had not. Then 30kms later I got home and after said noise was louder than ever it seems the whole motor has tried to turn in the frame itself yay.

I measured the differences iseen as though I have another exact same bandit sitting in the shed and its about 4mm

I figure in my awesome mechanical knowledge that the noise was maybe the chain trying to run off the front sprocket? The motor pulls like a train shifts perfectly and the clutch feels ace so bugger. I won't be riding it now until I fix the issues.

When I purchased the bike I got receipts for a $1499 service carried out which was half of what I paid, that $$ covered new tyres, full service, carbs rebuilt etc according to receipt I thought bit steep but hey something I don't have to worry about. I think the bike shop had found the problem and said Mate offload it before it becomes an issue. I've since asked the previous owner who typically has no knowledge of any problem, obviously I think he's full of shite.

Well time to do some fixy fix me thinks..

Thats fucked...I couldn't sell a bike like that!!!
I took my cousins bike to a shop down in Melb, and he said the same, sell it and make it someone elses problem........but the problem ended up being minor.....thats a fucked attitude!!

Yep, it takes one hell of a scumbag to sell a piece of shit to someone else. At least they weren't a member here...
Sorry to hear it mate, but I feel your pain.

The yank models don't use the bottom mounts.
So you may be able to remove both of them and then check all the other mounts.
I know this is not going to fix the bottom mount, but hopefully you can then ride it.

Yeah she sucks the ballage, I think i'll keep it Davo it'll give me an excuse to pull it apart and paint everything :-) the motors in great condition (other than the cracked mount) I found some replacement front engine mounts on fleabay that are not bent so I'll pull the engine out get it welded up which hopefully will be sufficient , replace the front mounts and dampers and hopefully it will all line back up sweet.
