So I have picked up a Dyna 2000 unit for the zx7 but after doing some reading I'm not sure I want to fit it. What have I missed?
I have run the Turbo with a V&H unit set at stock timing since it has been on the road, running 10psi boost for the last while but as things happen I can't leave things alone so here we are.
The stock ZX7 ignition is 10 btdc at 1100rpm 45 btdc at 5000rpm
The Dyna looks like you can only get a spread of 20 or 25 degree's depending on the curve you pick
So to get to 45BTDC I will have to have 20BTDC or so at idle/start up
So to me that reads as starting issues or less total advance. I am looking at raising the boost to 15-16-17 something so running a little less timing is a good thing, Just not getting my head around it.
People seem to love them but I can't see any power to be gained for a stock bike..
Have I missed something? It is getting late so going to reread tomorrow at work just to check.

Has anyone got any feed back on the units good or bad
