Hi All

Been lurking around for a bit thought I better say Gday. I have been working on a GSXR 7/11 fighter. I started with a 88 750 bike. I have installed a 08 GSXR 1000 front and rear end, wheels brakes ect. I cut off the original rear subframe and installed a subframe from a 2002 gsxr600. I have installed a 1127 engine, which has been rebuilt bigger pistons, stainless valves, polished and ported head ect but Jim Hanlon here in Adelaide. I have put on flat slide carbs and a dyna ignition. I have a few things left to do like exhaust ect. but its getting there. I have added some pictures the last one is of my Dorsoduro 1200 which is my regular ride bike.

Nice work mate, I had pretty much the same bike some years ago. 1186cc so it would still rev,but the rest pretty much the same. You are so close now but it seem's at this point to drag the most. Wot I do see is the top shock mount is too far back, wot that will do is give you no damping. It will fall through the stroke & "pogo" ! Nothing worse than getting her all run up & jetted only to find corner's are a f@king nightmare. Sorry but whilst you are still in the process ? At least 15deg from perpendicular (forward) nice bike.

Thanks for the tip regarding shocker positioning. I will have to see how it goes as if you lean it forward any it fouls on the swingarm during its range of travel. Its quite upright on the original bike. http://p1.bikepics.com/2008/09/06/bikepics-1409055-full.jpg.

Yeah mate I see what what your saying... I kinda know the GSXR model range. Put it to you this way..I got a rgv250 with an 800 single in it. Mid corner it makes serious grunt,so the original linkage & (yes you guessed it old timers) dog bones did not work with the change of a GSXR-1000 front end. It stood up mid corner in Southern loop (turn 2 PI) giving no grip as it is off camber. It would be an ideal world if via this forum I could enter your shed, but no. I changed the linkage & dog bones. This made the bike drop in C.O.G. & this is what I do to every bike I ride. Anyway I'm getting lost in this. So if you can research "rising rate" you will be close, good luck mate.

What the hell kind of 800cc single do you have Mundy ?

I have some vague recollection of seeing this in a magazine many years ago i think?
If its the same one i am thinking of it was like a one off engine. It munched a Carrillo Rod as its Cr is so high and ended up with the biggest rod you've ever seen in it. All very Cool

What the hell kind of 800cc single do you have Mundy ? This thread is not about my single but I am just using an experience from it. When you build something from an idea you should learn from it. So to just quickly respond Dan it's a DR 800 & it is extensively " off its rocker "
