Kloun

Hey guys, i was told to join this forum to start a build thread on my streetfighter project.
A bit about me first though. My name is Michael or Kloun (those who've ridden with me know why). I'm a boilermaker/welder by trade and love to tinker with motorbikes and 4x4s, one to go fast, one to go anywhere. I own a zx9 (fighter project) a triumph daytona 675, and a yamaha xjr1200 (old school muscle). I am planning to sell the daytona, and my dad rides the XJR, so that leaves the 9, which im fightereing to get the best of both worlds ;).
A bit about the 9:
It is a 2003 ZX9 that i bought second hand with really old chinese fairings on it, i rode it for a year when they started cracking and i decided i wanted something nobody else had. so i took the fairings off and started brainstorming. Ive decided to go with practicality, i want it to look like it came from a shop like this, i also want it to be a mile munching touring/commuting capable machine... the parts i have for it so far, are a 8" round headlight, and if i dont like that i have a really cheap chinese headlight that ill modify to take h4 globes. i have a street triple subframe and seat, i like the comfort and practicality of this, it means i can mount a quick release gear rack should i wanna do some touring, and take it off for the shenanigans after work :)... at the moment thats where im at, i havent modified anything yet, im ordering in stuff before i start the hard work. I do plan on ordering the triple clamp and bar kit that comes with braided lines though :) one thing i havent decided on is colour, id like to keep it simple, and minimalist... im contemplating getting the frame powdercoated black, but this will be done once i have it all finished and rideable, so i have plenty of time to work on that one
