Hi Guys,
Just joined ya group, more for info as the scene in the UK seems to have gone up its own arse and no one seems to be very helpful anymore, its either people slating others builds or shop built bikes.

Yea, welcome aboard mate. Seen quite a few guys from the UK complaining about what you just said. You get the occasional dick through here, but all in all, a good bunch of lads and lasses. Enjoy your stay!
Saw your question about the swingarm mod and moved it to the "Need Advice" section so you'll get more replies.
Cheers.

Welcome mate
To be honest, it's only a handful of nobbers spoiling it, mostly on Facefuck... there's plenty of decent, helpful folk still around, just a bit more 'underground' than they were...

As a expat POm i can only fully agree, back in the late 80's there was awesome, streetfighter/lowrider scene going.
i remember many happy Bulldog bash weekends checking out heaps of homegrown machines. Do you remeber the mag AWOL, it was a cool self build bike mag. i have a couple somewhere (including issue 1) and will try to dig them out. (i think they're enxt to my vinyl albums!!!)
then big business took over, and those OCC/Jesse James guys took over the whole scene and just said "throw me some money
and I'll make your ride unique" bah humbug. wat a waste of time. noone is expecting everyone to be able to make their own triple trees or monoshock a Z1 in the garage/shed, but small mods can be inexpensive and cool. long live shoestring builds and individualtiy.

I loved all the back page specials in Performance Bikes magazine.
AWOL was good too, if a little BSH for me.
Time moves on. Some folk will always build what they want,
other will move onto what they think others will be impressed with.
Fighters, choppers, cafe racers, there'll be something else along soon
for those that need it.
