Hi guys, Ecu in my other bike went pop, so time to sell off some stuff that's kicking around doing nothing... so what we have here is a pair of Cams that Tighe cams re-ground to Yoshimura 514B profile:
http://www.tighecams.com.au/profiles/suzukigsx.htm
Had them in the bike for maybe 5,000km before I bought a ported head that came with another set of cams, so they've been sitting oiled, wrapped in an old t-shirt since.
Say $350 for the pair?
I think I also have a 514C exhaust cam (might be an intake - have to check!) sitting there - came with the ported head as well - looks to be in good shape. $150 for it?

Just buy brand new webb cams Dan when you need them, under $500 from mem

It's what we use in all our motors
Mind you easy 1k to spend on cams, ver gears, buckets etc on these old girls
but if you know who to go through its better to buy the right stuff new and be done with it.
Mate of mine is the kwaka man to joe's suzi but can sorse all the good gear less than some well known names
I won't name ( read he isn't a gready cunt) just don't piss him off or fuck him round lol
Mind there is always the chance he will tell u it's the wrong breed lol

Yer - when I got them ground I didn't know who or what was around - Tighe were close to my work at the time. They've done some car cams for me too - i've never had a problem with them but I know others have.
Anyway - Cams for sale!

Anyone? $300 the pair?
Apparently they can be put into oil cooled GSXR/Bandit heads too - the inner bearing surfaces on the cam are wider than gsxr, hence why the GSX cams will go into GSXR, but not really vice versa.

Question time
What sort of power spread do they have?
Are they much of an improvement on the Stock GSXR750 cams?

Nfi what they're like compared to gsxr750, but in a gsx1100, they come on pretty hard at 7500 and spin till the stock ports sign off (10,000 plus when ported).

anyone?

Trouble with buying this age cams, when you start looking at everything else you're best off sticking a stock GSXR lump in!

I doubt there are many out there playing with this stuff anymore.

As it happens I have an EFE set of Barrels and head to deck but in all honesty I wouldn't be looking at telling the client to pay any more than $150.00.

Sorry if I have offended!

GSXR motors never quite fit right in Gsx frames. Anyway, a GSXR motor will be crying in a corner when a Gsx is still going strong... Just ask the drag boys.

Is that why they all use Busa now :)

Well there are still some of us out there that prefer the air cooled motors. I've never been a fan of sticking modern motors in old air cooled frames. It's not just about outright performance it's more about soul which these old beasts have in bucket loads. GSX-R no thanks.

Oval Kart boys love a meth fueled GSX big cam motor, might be worth sniffing around your local speedway track if you want to move them for what you think they're worth.

On the surface $ for $ you are right on the money
but no time soon will you see busa motors running a 10" slick

I agree but......

One of those bikes I should never have sold, Katana was hot as fuck but every time you went for a ride you came back with something not right or fallen off.

Loved the bike (should have kept it and detuned) but became such a pain it lost its fun factor, certainly not its wow factor.

Bought a '92 shim head engined 1127 bored to 1216 with standard cams (Yoshi stage 2 750) and have not had the head off since 1996 and believe me it does some great stands.

built in '96 148rwhp '96 ft/lb, dyno'd in 2012 142 and 92 ft/lb torque!

I can't complain about that IMHO!

Sorry Gamma I'm shitting on your thread , Apologies I'll bugger off.

But if you get desperate and are willing to sell for $150 I'd be happy to talk!
