While rebuilding the carbs on my GPZ900R I found that some knob had chewed out the mixture screw on one of the carbs.
Ok no worries i'll drill it out. That went fine till the easy out snapped deep in the screw and by the time I got it out there wasnt enough thread to hold a new one in as I had to grind it down.

So one carb is fucked.
I need a new set to suit an 88 GPZ thy can be munted I dont care as long as the bodys are good.
I'll take a decent set too. Its all going to be re jetted anyhow.

But all the screws and jets need to be un chewed.

HELP!!!

Side note....Has anyone EVER had success with Easy outs? I wont touch them and have never used them because all I ever hear is "Fucken easy out snapped". Last resort tool as HSS is brittle and not suited for tensile torque applications.
I equate Easy outs as useful for removing broken fasteners as using a carp for a mash hammer.

I have used them with success many times. The key is to use the biggest one possible for the job to avoid breakages.

I use square drive bolt removers (square taper with a sharp grove/edge on each corner) seem to be stronger than most round or spiral easy outs . And the best thing I ever bought was a set of left hand twist drills in 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 mm Most of the time just drilling the offending screw/bolt is enough to loosen it and a twist with the remover by hand is often all thats needed.

What size are the 900 carbs bloke ? I'll have a rummage in the shed who knows what lurks in a bucket that might get you out of trouble

Use a set of GSXR carbs, I used a set on my old GPZ 1100 when fuel injection was removed.
You will find it easyer to find parts for the more popular GSXR than the Kwaka and they will work all the same.
What size are they?
I have a set of slabbie 11 ones here if that helps.

You can eat it but it tastes like shit, doesn't work too well for fixing carbies tho.

I was curious because I saw a sign at a pub recently that showed where the Emergency Assembly Piont is. I don't think it has anything to do with bikes (unless a bikie sets fire to the place I guess)
