Has anyone else tried mounting a standard jap rear brake master on its side instead of vertically ?
Did it work ?
I'm not sure if the problem is that mine is not working or it's mounting it horizontal is the prob....

Any ideas ?????

Looks like the Ducati 1098 runs a horizontal m/c......maybe there is a difference internally......

Should be able to work on its side there will be no internal difference as they are all a cup on a piston possibly the only issue would be bleeding depending on which way your laying it

IE if the res is at the top and the pipe out is at the bottom air can sit in the master, most masters mounted horizontally with have both the res and the outlet at the top.

hope that helps a little russ

I remember a GSX11 one (normally upright)
lay Kat being used lay flat as a clutch slave.
Cable arm was turned through 90 degrees and
a bracket mounted to the rear engine mount.
Not sure what had been done to it but it worked
fine lay flat.

They should work in any orientation - you'll just have to have the reservior upright to fill / initial bleed it.

They sure are... and it eats a giant dick! i'm looking for rearsets to change to a conventional setup.

Yeah, I know what you mean, for some reason they are virtually impossible to bleed.
I fixed mine by hanging a big piece of steel on the lever for three days, it's fine now.

You need to remove the caliper and hang it bleed nipple up and they bleed well silly wogs put the bleed nipple in the wrong place.
