Anyone even remotely interested ?

http://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au/modeldetail.php?intBikeID=176

Personally I love the idea of a Busa Motor in a naked bike. But I have never fallen in love with the B Kings looks. Just too fussy and plasticy for me. Still as per usual if you ripped all the crap off it and got rid of that stupid underseat exhaust... its got some potential.

everyone keeps saying that, but i am still yet to see one with all the plastic shrouds off

Gets a good write up here-

Apparently the lumps on the tank are there for a reason

You girls only seem interested in the funny looking tank and pipes.

Mine got another 450K's of abuse on Sunday, nose to tail with another
B-King making the sportsbikes work for a living.

Grunt of a GSX1400, top end of a GSXR1000,
a fat 200 rear, USD front, radial brakes, alloy frame,
and 1340cc motor waaaaay better than the old Busa lump.
No "re-tuned" castrated sportsbike.

The only big-bore, high spec naked jap bike out there...[8D]
..and its got plenty more to come.

Not read a bad review yet, not met a disapointed owner.

It's nice to ride the "different" Naked Busa, but the B-King,
although quiet and stock is still a far better bike.

Personaly I dislike the looks of the Busa and the B-King,
my last 3 bikes have been Busa, Busa, B-King.
I value performance over looks.

The tail would look heaps better if the exhaust was different as well, would love to see a four in to one side mounted exhaust on this bike.

Pipes look pretty but reports are very little gain for a high cost.
Looking at removing the "cat" when I do my pipes,
Might have to be a "de-Cat" plus "de-P.A.I.R valve" as well if it needs Powercommander.
Also looking at using the B-mode swith to on/off a TRE.

The "Plastic hanging off the back" has a steel subframe
beneath it and weighs about 2-kg !!!!

Might wait to get a few points back on the licence,
Short rear guard and open pipes would be enough to
wave my licence goodbye = no job.

Took one for a test ride a couple of weeks ago and I was blown away how nimble it was. I jumped off my GSXR600 and it turned just as sharp with a heap of grunt, more than my Gen 1 Busa. Bike doesnt look that ba in the flesh, well for me anyway, would ditch the exhaust it ways a tonne put a nice GP style pipe on it. Will probably look at getting one in the next 12 months or so.

Shayne/Abusa,

Any theory's on power up-grades ?
Are we talking similar to Busa's ?

TRE ?
P.A.I.R blanks ?
Remove the "cat" ?
Only seen can's, maybe a full system ?
Filter or Airbox mod's ?
Keep the 2nd butterflys ? or remove like the ZX14 ?
Powercommander ?

Exactly the same mods as a Busa... it's exactly the same engine as the '08 Busa.
Only real difference to spec is that it has a speed limiter clocking in at about 150mph, the exhaust and airbox cap the power a smidge compared to the freer flowing airbox and pipe on the Hayabusa, but other than that, the same mods apply to both bikes.

Tony pretty much what MDM said, same motor apart from restrictor and different mapping. Interstingly about the B King I couldnt find any evidence of a Ram Air System although didnt have the balls to start stripping down the demo bike, only took off a couple of covers.

No ram air, holes thru frame are in the general area of the intakes but not directed, had my mates on a dyno last week at 172hp 2 bros exhaust and yoshbox remap , same dyno several weeks earlier had a 08 busa wih slipons and remap at 180

oh, that reminds me

i dropped into suzuki newcastle on monday, and had a sit on one

now, i say this bike up close at phillip island and at the sydney expo and one thing i didnt notice was the MASSIVE bar risers

and then on top of that is a high-ish bar (not a flat-bar thats for sure)

did they change this since the shows, cos im suprised i didnt notice it then

talk about a relaxed riding position! i though this was supposed to be a sporty naked NOT A CRUISER [XX(]

Tony Nitrous

Feels fine when you ride it.

fimpBIKES
22-02-2008, 08:16 AM
its just too damn upright, im currently re-doing the tillers setup cos it was too relax'd and its already like burt munro's bike in comparison

why cant manufactures realise that just cos its a naked bike doesnt mean the bars have to be ape-hangers?

was it always like that, i swear its changed since i saw it at the expos...

Far as I know, every Production version has been the same.
Yeah, they look a bit odd if you stand and stare but all feels good.

No complaints about the riding position.
Another local Guy (Shane/"Shredder") is running 2 Turbo Busa's,
Streetbike and Dragbike, he's very interested in a B-King too.
The clamps are like the tank and pipes, a bit odd !

Have you ridden one yet?

Or is that the whole idea? ;)

:D...Wouldn't be any lose would it...:D

I think its a sneaky way of hiding behind a fairing and
still claiming its "Naked"..;)

My last half dozen bikes have all been Blue,
This idea worked well when Ben did it but im
not 100% sure it suits the B-King.

Just wondering what hp they are in the UK, i really fancied one when they first came out last year, but a £9000 uk stirling, thats too much lolly to be getting the grinder too, a spilled one tho, hhuummm!! that could be a shit load of fun me thinks :o),,,

Both my local Suzuki shops had demonstrators from day 1.
Either one of the guys follows on another bike or they
let you bugger off for half an hour. Depends if they
know or trust you.Several folk around here have taken them
out just for a laugh with no intentions of buying.

I know 1 spent quite some time up on one wheel,
another had all the panels off to see what was under..:D

Isn't that normal ? Or is it just Brissy ?

Yeah, that would figure..:D

Bear,..."Buggar all to do to them, really"

There's all the usual bolt on crap becoming available as well as
pipes, TRE's, filters, bellypans, fender eliminators, rad guards,
Power Commanders etc etc...
but BigCC already have a Turbo B-King and a NOS B-King
up and running, JMC are measuring up for long mega-braced arms,
there are carbon bodywork sets being made, and a few others are
getting on the ball.

Remember they have only been on sale about 4 months.
