Gonna have a spare 380 tripple motor hanging around and it seems a waste sooooooo, thought about shoving it into a light Ali frame and banging some other bit together to see what happens. GSXR 400 seems favorite so just putting it out there. Any of you reprobates got one gathering dust you'd be willing to part with?

RGV 400 doesn't exist - it's a typo. RG400 is same frame as RG500...

Stuff it in an RG250 fram - like a Yammagamma with an extra pot.

custom frame ?

Would be first choice if I were Rockafella so unless you're doing freebies or working on the slab per day system, that's a non starter for me Lynton.

Hey Bryn are you thinking of registering it for the road ? If not I have a Speed Triple frame and SSSA gathering dust if you want. It's a stat write off but only cause it's got a little scratch on the frame spar

What year is it Simon? I was aiming for pre '86 for club reg so yours is way too new I think. Might be a bit heavy for the puny 38hp GT donk too.
I could expand from the aluminium box frame to steel tubular so GS & GSX frames can be considered. I can see this ending with me just chopping a GT frame, slapping a new swinger and forks in and hoping it all turns out well. At least that way all the numbers will match :)

Have you considered another make of chassis? NSR, KR1, TZR etc?
Or right out of left field, what about sticking it in an enduro frame? It's a piss - & I do mean piss - easy conversion.
XRs, DRs, TTs, KLXs, etc are all available cheaply pre 88 & road registerable, all with USDs & monoshock rears & I've got a couple of sets of 17" spokies that will suit the job nicely.

GT 380 powered SUPERMOTO on Club plates... It would be rude not to wouldn't it?

GammaBoy
14-07-2013, 08:54 AM
Yeah, and crf450, seems like a good idea until you look at the rear end geometry, and talk to guys racing those motors on the big flat tracks in the states... They're not so bullet proof out on the mile ovals...
