Since selling the track bike I've been staring at the collection of parts that once formed almost a complete ZXR750L2.

With limited funds and questionable know how I am determined to get it back on the road in Streetfighter form.

My current question is around front end conversions and the who's, buts, if's, why's and etc!

I have spotted a 2010 ZX6R full front end and am considering purchasing it with the idea of mating it to my ZXR but would like some guidance from the forum first on if its possible and how big a can of worms I'm opening!

Any advice, experience, thoughts or direction would be appreciated but please remember this is on a limited budget!

Pretty much the same for ZX6/ZX10, The ZXR bearings (Got a new set of ZXR all balls stem bearings) fit on the ZX10 steering stem thats easy enough, You lose a little bit of full lock turning & the steering stops are on the lower triple clamp at the rear but that is an easy enough fix with a bit of billet aluminium & there happens to be 2 bolt holes in the front of the frame underneath where the new steering stop needs to go, The hardest part really was finding an upper triple clamp (YOKE!) that will be suitable for drilling & fitting bar mounts, I looked into lots of different options, If I had the dollars I would just leave it in Bens hands to make a custom set of triple clamps at Extreme Creations but could not afford $1200-$1500 ATM so I found a billet upper clamp but it still needed drilling for bar mounts & milling underneath too so that was a bit of mucking around, I have got my upper clamp sorted/modified & bar mounts fitted but I need to paint it & get some pics

I trimmed the ZX10 ignition mount of the front which brings the Trailtech Vapor speedo closer but I need to relocate my ignition somewhere now

There's nothing wrong with the standard ZXR front end, so if you have one - use it ! It's free.
If you don't have a front end at all or if you're converting the front end for radial brakery or for conversions sake - carry on.
At the end of the day, most front end conversions are just a matter of steering stem, lock stops & bearings, worst case scenario is that you'd need access to a hydraulic press or a lathe.

Not sure if you've tried this firm before but they recently advertised in Streetfighters Mag
