So just to add to 'too many projects' Last year i procured a bike off of boxer a mate of his or he was selling, either way i grabbed it as i couldnt bring myself to rip apart my good one.

the original sale thread with pics
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/showthread.php?23393-Sydney-TL1000S-fighter-unfinished-project

Smokey motor? Out it came, 1100 barrels and pistons procured carrillo rods new fancy crank to allow bigger bearings (the weak spot), heads at present being sorted should be ready to go in in the next couple of months funds willing

I had grabbed a sett of carrozzeria wheels off Ben a few years ago that needed somewhere to go so after finally finding a bike, i got Ben to mill up some spacers and a bxp rear sprocket to fit into the now underbraced rear swinger

Not too impressed with your choice of frame chocks, but it looks like it might be a nice looking bike with those wheels.

worked on a jigsaw puzzle

knife edge balanced and polished crank with new carillo rods
http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlcrankrods.jpg

their new home
http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlcrankincases-Copy.jpg

http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlclutchside1-Copy.jpg

new bigger pistons and barrels

http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlbarrels.jpg

the next bit to go on was these

http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlhead.jpg

But that wasnt before they were played with a little

http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlexhaustsmallport-Copy.jpg

then an appropriate vibrant colour was discussed discarded and the right colour selected

http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w438/elhefty/tlpainting1.jpg

some more bits bolted on and its starting to look the goods

Doing the math with the bigger displacement and the headwork when tuned and sorted should be looking at best around 15% increase in power not sure on torque worthwhile? we will see. All the new engine parts were sourced out of the US from another tl owners project that never got underway

While apart all gears showing wear were replaced as well as new clutch and welded clutch centre ... next a test fitup

oh yes will be interesting to see she runs mate, well done

El_Hefty
09-07-2013, 11:32 AM
haha albi theres a word missing, it could be either 'interesting to see if she runs' or 'interesting to see how she runs'

but yeah im keen to get her going, so after a mock up this motor might just go into the black tls until the frames powdercoated and everything else is done then swap them back they are an easy enough motor to swap over

Well the project sounds great..but I think you working very slowly on the project.. but doing it very well, specially I like that mat black engine color because it will look prefect in the bike. Now when you will finish the project, because I wanna see that bike after all work done.

Well there was a bloke in 2013 who said i was working very slowly. Which i wasnt, but maybe just maybe he was a modern day nostradamus, he can still fuck off even 7 years later.

Life work and other shit getting in the way look what popped up again. Its a fucking tl forum this place.

Well the bikes got a new tail. Its a dirty $#nda cbrrr600rrrrr tail with a set of twin yoshi wanna be pipes to go right where that big fat cbr exhaust tip used to go.

It actually was meant to be, the initial fitup went so easily. Cant be that easy, shouldnt be that easy. Somethings gonna break.

Anyway its only been seven years and without further ado. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/e40b45c22fe8b9bd53a17da40a35543f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/04cc4e0c67c34f367a26425d83462e81.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/3ad5021fff7c9ce16d086fc7bb5fd1b1.jpg
