I got a Honda CM250, single carb, Now the bike will die if u dont keep it at high revs it will sometimes die if u do. If u turn the idle up it will jump between high rpm like 5k and 1K frequently. and then sooner or later die.

Carb (there is only one) has been cleaned 3 times, compression is the same in both cylinders,

What do i start looking at

Most likely a vacuum leak (sucking air in), check the manifold for sealing/pin holes & the seal around the manifold to cylinder head junction. If you can get it to idle lowish, spray some CRC/WD40 or Aerostart around the manifold area, if the idle speed increases, you've got a leak.
