Can I make one recommendation lads?

UK band "Sylosis", stage 5, 1:20pm.

All my old crew in the UK said they stole the show and Download Festival a year or two ago.

Yea, apparently they are playing the "Black Album" in it's entirety, just like they have done with all the other albums before that on their 20th anniversary. Considering Kill 'em all, Ride the Lightening and Puppets were the best albums Metallica did by far, everything after that went to pap after they got in wanky producers who fucked their raw sound. The Black album was shite commercial hits even in 1992. Radio play for fucks sake!

I caught their concert in Amneville in France at the end of 2010 - the only way to describe it was pretty much the Americana album and earlier - Live - was fucking awesome - snuck a few new (shit) songs in but the rest were old school - the guitar shat at the most crucial opening solo of gone away (thrown into the darkness and quickly replace) but they were perfect.
It was funny cause I said I was going to an offspring concert and an old surfie mate of mine said "nooo wayy maannn those guys are still aliiiiiiiiiiiive rock on!"

Dave Lombardo (http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=447262618678275&id=124433877627819)
Statement From Dave Lombardo Regarding Slayer Australian Tour 2013

I want to personally apologize to all of our fans in Australia who have bought tickets for the tour expecting to see me in my usual place on the drums.

So that you all know the truth, as of the end of the business day on February 14th, I was notified that I would not be drumming for the tour in Australia. I’m saddened, and to be honest I am shocked by the situation.

Last year, I discovered 90% of Slayer’s tour income was being deducted as expenses including the professional fees paid to management, costing the band millions of dollars and leaving 10% or less to split amongst the four of us. In my opinion, this is not the way a band’s business should operate. I tried rectifying it by letting my band mates know, and Tom and I hired auditors to figure out what happened, but I was denied access to detailed information and the necessary back up documents.

I spent the Christmas and New Year holidays realizing I had toured all over the world in 2012, but yet, had not been paid (except a small advance) or provided a proper accounting for a full year's sweat and blood. On top of this, I was told that I would not be paid until I signed a long form contract which gave me no written assurance of how much or on what basis management would deduct commissions, nor did it provide me access to the financial budgets or records for review. It also forbade me to do interviews or make statements having to do with the band, in effect a gagging order.

Last Monday, I sat down with Kerry and Tom to rehearse for Australia and to propose a new business model that I felt was the best way forward for Slayer to confidently protect itself so we could do what we do best . . . play for the fans. Kerry made it clear he wasn’t interested in making changes and said if I wanted to argue the point, he would find another drummer. On Thursday, I arrived at rehearsals at 1 pm as scheduled, but Kerry did not show. Rather, at 6:24 pm I received an email from the lawyers saying I was being replaced for the Australian dates.

I remain hopeful that we can resolve our issues. But once again, I sincerely apologize to all of our fans in Australia who spent their money expecting to see the 3 of us original Slayer members.
I look forward to seeing you in the future.

Sincerely,
Dave Lombardo

they pull out at the last minute last time, and no with a new ring in drummer.
I think soundwave are 4 drummers down, slayer, anthrax, 6 ft under and blink 182.

Yeah!, I was going to leave halfway through Metallica to go and see the Offspring, but I couldn't leave a set like that!
They were loud, clean and awesome! And they only played one song newer than the black album! :D

We set up camp at No1 from about Bullet for My Valentine, Slayer were pretty fucken good.
Got up to go and watch The Offspring after Metalica started 45 minutes late, walked about 30mtrs and they started Master Of Puppets, watched that and then headed over to The Offspring stage (never seen them before), listened to three of their songs, they were shit, somehow the sound was fucked up, headed back and got the same seats and listened to a Metalica instrumental session and then wham.. One.... all was right in the world again. Missed the flare thing, Josh saw it, he said they just hosed the cunt off real quick. The band that surprised me the most I think was Linkin Park, they were pretty good.

We left cypress hill early to get a good spot for linkin park. We were hard up against the barrier to the mosh pit. Got some good pics of the band. Some dude got fucked up in the middle of the pit and Chester stopped the set to get him out. We moved to the other side just before they finished to get up the front for Metallica.
Linkin park always delivers.
James was a bit rusty, he shagged harvester of sorrow and something was wrong with the sound of one but who cares they went off.

That tool with the flare was crazy. The hose done fuck all and he eventually threw it into the crowd and burnt some chick.
There's a bit of a witch hunt on nerdbook for him too.

Fuck that crane thing looks like it would have been a hoot.

Yeah Stone Sour was good, (I couldn't remember there name, just went hunting for the band list to make sure I was thinking of the right band), there was no need to leave that stadium hey, still annoyed I did to see a really shitty 10minutes of the Offspring, we were about 20mtrs from a bar, good view, good musi.

We'll be back next year (minus a missus, apparently the music was a bit heavy......fucken der).

It was good, that last one is my mate, it was the only time he lifted his hands off the bar. You could spin the chairs around and lie them back, but you had to bring your own drinks. Lucky i brought in some vodka with me.
I lost my shirt during slayer. When i realised, i thought no probs, i'll buy one. Hand in my pocket, and realised i couldn't 'cause i'd lost my wallet, too. I had no cash, but plenty of booze, so it coulda been worse.
Instead of a cab home from the station, it meant a 9 odd km walk home. Still an awesome day.
