Ok, so I know the thermostat in the rad inlet allows the engine to warm up before letting the water through...soooo as its usually nice 'n' warm up here in Brisvegas..Do I still need it ?
I could tidy up the wifes plumbing ([:0]) if I could lose it.
Would it have any adverse effect ?

Best to keep the thermostat mate, better to re-position it :)
Without it it will take forever to warm-up, and if it sits at a good temp round town - jump on the freeway it will drop again with all that fresh air....
Re-positioning shouldn't be that hard....? I spose someone like Ben would have done it... :)
The bike will be designed to run at a certain temperature and removing the thermostat may stop the bike from getting to that "ideal" temp. The running temp effects all sorts of things from seals to oil viscosity and aluminium expansion. All these things are taken into account when the engine is designed and if you consistantly run it cooler, heck knows what long term effect/s it could have.
Probably just use more fuel but it's in there for a reason/s.
