Got round to weighing my K2 GSXR1000. (checked it again)

Stock it was 206Kg with half a tank of fuel.

I've been on a bit of an obsessive mission to remove weight from it for a while now.

I was hoping it would be in the mid 170's (Kg's)

I haven't weighed it for quite a while so I got round to it this morning.

I was quite shocked (I weighed it again) to see 168 Kg with half a tank of fuel.....

I'm a bit happy with that

Still got to get the headlight working again so I'll probably end up at 168 but it's still better than I hoped.

Sorry , just had to tell the world

I don't think I've done anything that no one else would think of...

There is a lot of weight in just being obsessive about it.

I've machined stuff down and removed a lot of stuff....

Removed -

Horn
Radiator fan
Half the subframe
Pillion pegs
Tool kit
STV's (Blades, rod, actuator motor, sensor and even the wiring for it)
SET Motor, cables, bracket
PAIR system (including the valves , covers, hoses etc)
Bar ends
Brake Reseviors
Indicators (intergrated into tail light and mirrors)
Lots of brackets and metal tabs

I've replaced almost every bolt on the bike with Titanium or Aluminium and I've machined the new bolts when ever they are longer than they need be.

Bolt on weight loss...

BST Wheels
QB Carbon Fuel Tank
QB Carbon Air box
Race Fairings
Bitubo Rear Shock
K5 Forks woth Bitubo cartridges
Radial Calipers (lighter than the stock 6 pots)
Yoshimura Rearsets
Galfer Rotors
Mini Rear Caliper
Odyssey Battery
Hyperplates
Yoshi Race Alternator
Full exhuast system
CF Front guard
520 Chain, AFAM Sprockets
Alloy Rad Hoses
CF Front Sprocket cover
Hayabusa swingarm (it's actually lighter than the stock one)
K3 Throttle bodies (lighter than K2 ones)

Some of the custom stuff ....

PIAA Headlight (same as Suzuka 8 hr bike)
Front Fairing support (lighter and holds MXL)
Custom Velocity stacks
Custom brake reseviours
Custom CBR tail light
Custom Aluminium Fuel tank hinge
Custom Electric water pump and controler
Custom mini ignition barrel
Custom Panel Filter

I do have some stuff on there that's heavier than stock.....

Yoshimura Clutch Cover
Yoshimura Alternator Cover
Yoshimura ECU
Yoshimura Suspension rocker and links
Yoshimura Adjustable Triple clamps
Yoshimura Clipons
Motty AFR unit
AIM MXL dash
Fuel tank baffle
Radiator guard
Active billet throttle

Now the rider can just loose another 5Kg and we'll be right LOL

Trust me the thing is a work of art....:D
If you know a bit about bikes...Which you all do... When you see it in the flesh you could spend a day going over all the things that you would find that photos just don't show...[8D]
