Ok, so i have lurked on here for years and never contributed much to the building of a bike..........
So i think it is time to start getting my shit together and do something instead of talking about it.

I have a couple of frames available to me, GSXR 1100 95 (what is left of Mongrel), a GSXR 750 89, a GSXR 750 90 and last but not the least a complete SB6 Bimota, well it is sort of complete i only have half of the fairings.

the problem i have with the Bimota is that i bought it and it was a wreck that was imported into Aus. So i don't think i can get it rego'd but it is the one i want to get built the most. I am not sure if i can rego it on a club or similar type of rego. So i shall have to do a bit of investigation.

The shots here show it with fiberglass fairings, not the original carbon fibre.

I have painted it and made it look a bit prettier

My general plan is pretty basic, but i have toyed with the idea of a turbo, but all the cool kids are doing it and i am not cool i have discovered lol

So i think what i will do will be pretty basic and try and utilise some of Extreme Creations skills, mostly a nice billet top and bottom triple clamp.
I will try and clean up the exposed side of the motor and maybe do a few engine mods, cams, carby's, port work and modify the exhaust to pull a few more pony's out of it.

I am thinking of getting a nice radial front end for it something of a late model GSXR maybe and Brembo's a set of wave rotors but i will try and stick with the wheels tho.

Headlight/Mask options....... not a bloody clue, can't even begin to guess.

Ok now to pull my finger out and do something about it all and not just talk about it........ To The Bay Of E !!!!

Yes Yes....... if i ever learn to pull my finger out,

Just trying to get the race bike off the bench again, decided to solder all the connenctions to eliminate any possible headaches with electricals, not that there is much at the moment.

I am thinking of using a set of gixxer forks, and trying to get a set of monoblock calipers for it.
I wanted to go withthe later model gixxer forks, the ones with the big piston system, not sure if they are any good but the racer boy in me thinks they are better lol

There is a bloke nearby trying to sell a 2008 front end, i am going to drop around and see what it looks like, he is talking about having to streetfighter his other bike, might bounce him onto the forum.

other than that i will keep trolling ebay

so i got to ask why go to far with it if it cant be regoed?

doubt they will let a turbo bike race with the rest of the field

I won't race it, although that was the plan at one stage,
I have fucked about with this thing for so long that i can't sell it, so i thought i might try and club rego it and ride it on a couple of days a year etc, and it is a bimota and there are a few out there who would think "no you can't do that to it" so i am going to lol

I love the shape of it tho and the lines, not going to go to far with it so it can all be put back to stock. a sort of contradiciton right there tho.

I guess it just comes down to if it can be regoed then

DCRacing

Yes if it proves to be in the to hard basket, i might sell it or race it in Bears or park it again........ lol

any of the parts i get for it can be put onto one of the other bikes i have waiting any way

That's about as good a reason as any.

As for rego, how do the grey import guys go about it? There are tons of grey import CBR250's for example that are early 90's built but have 00's compliance plates.

Love it !
Would make a bloody nice naked bike.
I know there's been at least 3 Bimota fighters, probabley more.

Karl/Carl at West Coast had one when they used to Sponsor Gary Rothwell,
there been one or two in mainland europe,
and there was this one...

Yeah i am going to try and dodge a mask....... might do the mask on another bike.

But i also have got to do something about the frame on mine. I am thinking on a CF cover. will see.

I have got a set of k8 GSXR1000 forks, and i will schase down a set of mono block calipers, and a brembo master.

I will use the std front rim and a set of buzz saw discs, billet triples..........and try and get fancy with paint.

This one is the later version of the SB6, has the restyled tail

Karl/Carl at West Coast had one when they used to Sponsor Gary Rothwell

Blast from the past Tony, Gary Rothwell ! I remember being outside a pub on the IOM at the TT (The Hawthorne i think?) and he was going past in 6th gear on a Z1300 on one wheel, before he became so well known around 93 I think.

Bought my first big bike at WestCoast too - GPz1100A2, a few weeks before I passed my test on my GP100 Suzuk !!!

Ok so before i get stuck into it i thought i would take account of what it is and what i got to modify

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/008_zpsed766585.jpg
Front end has conventional Paoli Forks with Carbon lowers and cast full floating (rattley) Discs with brembo calipers and braided lines. I am not sure if the rims are stock or after market Marvics, they had a few different styles of rims from what i have seen.

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/010_zps9ebc6a8a.jpg
Rear is nothing too fancy just showing off how i can get a blurry photowith the best, friggin iPhones.

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/018_zps52ebced3.jpg
Nice Billet top triple and associated clipons, I am amazed at how much thye have borrowed from the Suzukis'

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/020_zpsb795af7a.jpg
Billet cap, has a fuel cell under it and the whole tail piece comes off as one unit with the cans, a pain in the ass to do anything with the motor or carbs

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/021_zps22b06c78.jpg
An Ohlins shock is stuffed into there, pretty sure it needs a major service, it gets very hot from the exhaust

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/028_zps1cd2728d.jpg
The tail end which is the part i like most about the bike, i just thought it could do with a more aggressive front end.

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff445/DCRacing1/Bimota SB6/070_zpse78026da.jpg
And lastly the donor forks, got them on a swap for some gear out of the Yard, so no coin out of pocket yet........
I want to get a set of monobloc calipers and a brembo master for the front end, then a set of triples from Ben and that part should nearly be done..... sort of.

Got a couple of issues with the frame, Some marks on it that i am not sure what to do with,

I am thinking of getting a Carbon Fibre skin put over it, I don't really want to paint it and i can't see a way to get it repaired back to the anodised look.........Any ideas anyone?
