Hi everyone,

Am a 20yo engineering student from Sydney, bought myself a zxr250 when I was 18 and have been building it ever since. Have recently come to a point where I'm 99% happy with the finish, but I'm sure you all know how that is. Everyone asked me why I bothered to spend so much money on a 250, my only answer is that this was my learning curve and I'm stuck on my P's for 3 years so I have time. I had a ZXR750 for a little while and I'm happier being able to scream along and piss everyone off at 16,000rpm and still barely be touching 50km/h. ;)

Here's some pics:

Now(99% happy with it.):

I plan to build another bike, just keeping an eye out for a good base, something I can have ready for when I'm off my P's in a year. I'm looking for something I can use for doing everything, touring, light off road (xcountry) and long days on the road. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers,

Aj

welcome mate.

You've done a nice job of it even if it is just a 250.

I remember seeing you start a build thread at KSRC. Finished product came a long way.
Its not "just" a 250 Trav....its the strongest and best handling 250 in the sewing machine line up of 4 cylinder 250's.
Welcome to ASF.

Thanks for the welcome! Can't wait to start the next project, I love L model ZXR750's and the zx7's, tempted to do that but it's not so easy to find project worthy bikes... or I'm not looking hard enough!

Ha AJ

Im not a fan of gold at all but thats a nice looking 250 you have there, Might be even better with a colour change here n there? + you need to sort out a better brake master cylinder reservoir setup though, Little bit dangerous having the reservoir lower than the master cylinder?

There is a cheap & fairly tidy looking 93 ZXR 750 on ebay at the moment but it is in Victoria>

Not sure what the deal was with this one if it actually sold outside ebay? Even at $1000 it looked like a good deal>

Better than what I started with>

There is a few nice ZXR's in here if you look around, There is one already fightered for sale at a very reasonable price too
