Wer're running the stock motors with 180A speed controls and 4 cells. We reckon we're getting about 60kph, but we need a mini gps to get an accurate reading. The esc can handle 6 cells but the motor prolly not so better motors are next. And props, we've already broken 4 props in 3 visits to the dam.

We're aiming for 100kph

This is our first runs at Manly Dam

Plenty of claims of 125Kmh+ runs, but this one looks valid at a claimed 57mph.

Then there's guys running twin motor setups...

Put the 6 cell in her. We run 4 cells in our EP8 and they fly 6 cell is even better. You should be safe with the 180 amp ESC when you swap those motors out

Too big remoho.

Yes Dan, Yes.

We ordered new motors, driveshafts and props.

The old motors were 2050 kv running on 4 cells (14.4v) so approx 29000rpm through a 38mm x 1.4 pitch prop.

New motors are 1600kv on 6 cells (22.2v) so approx 35000rpm driving 46mm x 1.4 pitch props.

The performance is quite sparkling...

Looks like we need to do a bit of trimming and maybe invest in a dinghy....and pick a day the skiers aren't up the dam.

Yep Ben is cheif grip or best boy or something behind the camera.

Been looking for a smallish gps that records maximum speed to get a valid Vmax reading.

Your fucked now Large , once bitten your hooked. Look for days with a lite wind blowing down the length of your fave run. A slight chop from a lite wind will make a hell of a difference to the top speed/handling of the boat compared to glass like conditions.

There is just something cool about a motor the size of a coke can putting out 20 kw pushing a toy boat at 115 mph

Quickest out there is about 140 mph atm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA3y_gyX3m8

Meh. I gooogled them and they don't actually work for anything fast and sleek.

So I bought one of these-

61.2kph for my stocker.

89.5kph for Chris's screamer, but it will go faster with a bit of tuning/lead weight to hold it down.

So will mine when I remotor it tomorrow.

This is pretty cool too, if you've got at least 10k to spare-

So is it 1 x 6 cell pack or 3 x 2 cells? Got any photos of the battery setup?

When your finished playing in the water check out Rcmadness 5T Losi 1/5 on youtube it could be your next toy(Id put the vid up here but dont know how)

Chris is running 3 2s packs in series and experiment with where to put them in the boat for balance. I'm still running 2x 2s packs. I've been waiting for some alloy props we ordered to turn up to see if I can do better than 61k.

Chris ran this fast today-

So mine's getting upgraded right now.

I'll check out the Losi buggy tonight thanks.
