Got a el cheapo hvlp (pot on top) gun set and want to paint some bits using acrylic lacquer paint is there a basic paint/thinners mixing ratio to make 1 litre of paint?

Does etch/spray putty/primer require different mix ratios?

All my paint/thinners are 3m superchump brand, straight colour no metallics.

I'm doing this outside so what's the best temperature to paint in?

with the paint system your using id steer well clear of spray putty and spot putties as from past experience they shrink and crack after the job is finished ,also with the etch the best coverage is lite to medium ,

The mixing ratio is on the paint tin.
But a genral rule of thumb with acrylic is 60/40 paint to thinners.
Hichem etch is very good to use .
And as Ur using acrylic I'd just use rattle can spray putty but don't lay it on.
As Pete said it can crack

The etch/putty tins didn't have the info on the label so I went and checked the primer/colour tins and found a mix ratio of 1 part paint/1.5 part thinners.

will a coat of spray putty fill a few spots of "pin holes" in the filler work?

you might be better off to mix up a little more filler to fill the pin holes as the spray putty will just fall out in time,

If you were using 2 k then a hifill primmer would be good or even purfect .
I'd just give a light skim of filler and sand back then use the putty and sand it back and paint.
