Best paint to paint frame/swingarm.

Hey gang.

I wanna paint the frame and swingarm on my zx9. Advise?

rub back with metho and scotch brite ,then lightly etch ,dont drown the etch on,as many will tell you as it will lift ,or crack ,then prime,with a good 2 pak primer filler ,wet or dry sand your choice ,then add colour 2 pak , cheers

Get it powder coated - costs fk all and the finish and durability will be much better.

i would PC frame and swingarm just make sure you tell them where you dont want PC ...ie engine mounts and bolt holes etc etc

Mate i did mine in 2 k solid and it chips very easy ?
I wish i clear coated aswell
Powder coat is good and durable bet when you chip or scratch it makes touch ups bloody hard .
At least with 2 k you can scuff back and touch up.
If and when i redo it i will do cob ." Clear over base" and not a solid.

I did mine in Killrust Epoxy in a spraycan. Used under 2 cans all up and it's lasted pretty well. It was matt, but it went on nice and was real easy to patch up if it ever got scratched.

And it was under $30 from Bunnings. Win all round :)
