Carbie Top

Hey fighters,
I had one cylinder running really lean and the others running really rich and couldn't figure out why. Carbie's are clear, all settings the same and all in reasonable condition. Now on this one cylinder running lean I noticed the black plastic top on the carbie had 3 round plastic tabs which stuck out. This stopped the slide from sliding all the way and therefore must limit the operation of the needle. Is there any reason for this or can I file them down. This is the only carb (number 4) with this issue.

Do your carbs have diaphrams because the ones on my dads XS11 had tears in them and that caused them to run lean from memory
if they do you can use three bond th repair them hope this helps

Its got diaphrams but as I said it was these tabs making the needle not come out as far as the other ones. I'm just going to file them down, I cannot see any use for them.
