i was talking to an old boy at work yesterday who has some spare Z1100 engine cases for me left over from his drag bike( stupidly crazy huge fuken turbo thing!!!! im trying to get some picks of it), and he was sayin i should get them walnut shell blasted as it strips the paint and puts a kind of natural lacquer on the alloy to seal it from the world..........

anyone have any history with this?

its fuken cheap too.... head, cam cover and barrels fo $80 bucks

of corse i know if its sealed i wonnt be able to paint it, bu tmaybe ill leave the engine unpainted???

these both look pretty fuken good!

As promised some before and after pics of my carbs. I used medium glass beads for this as they don't damage the alloy, plastic, rubber, etc. As you absolutely don't want glass beads getting into your motor I blasted the carbs assembled with all external exit holes taped or plugged. A vigorous blast with an airline after they were blasted and before final re assembly they will be stripped and put through an ultrasonic clean. Hope the pics aren't too blurry and they don't really do the finished product much justice they look much better in real life.

the whole nothing really is off the shelf for old cool parts. Some one always know some one who knows a bloke with a shed full or a rare part and its true because we do.
