If that's the original unbraced GS frame then "Fun" is the optimum word for the ride he's going to have with that motor. Maybe the forks and swinger will save the day?

he has got a fancy ohlins shock :P
Hey si id rather have a stock gs thou frame over a push bike styled zed frame.
The gs used simular headstock to the gp bikes back in the day.

love the bike this is a style i really dig
one day id love to build some one something close as a road or track bike but useing my own cromo frame
but si is right way to much power in that frame and fun is a word that it might be
then again with only a oill cooler that size i dont know much much of a ride you could have before cool down
prob would do the job but with the huffer i would have thought bigger
id still give a left nut for this bike
I cant give my left nut??
Dont work ,had have a vasectomy.
Thats a great looking bike and should handle better than stock.
Ive had a couple of early Suzukis, 1976 GS750 and 1981 GSX1100 Katana and once set up with decent tyres and suspension, they handled almost as good as my Ducati 900 Darmah. The other Jap manufacturers took years to build a bike that handled anywhere near as good. I think the first one to come close was the 1983 Kawasaki GPZ1100 A1 or 1984 GPZ900R.
An old friend of mine (mad as a cut snake) bought the last square headlight GSX1100 in Brisbane around 1983 and bolted a Mr Turbo to it with a few more goodies (suspension, tyres and longer swing arm etc). It handled the extra power easily but the brakes were shit in those days. Allegedly he did Brisbane to Sydney in 7 hours.

no-one says it has to work ! even more reason to give it up, not like you'll need it anymore :D
(I'm in the same boat btw. had the bricks meself too)

Mmmmmmmm..... I LOVE pimped up gs's. COOl as Feck.
looking at the swingarm pivot area, i would say, its a GS650 shafty frame. They fit the oil cooled motor alot better than an 1100 frame, (which leave a big gap front and back of an oil motor) and have the advantage of being very wide across the swingarm pivot so are really easy to stuff big swingarm and wheel combo's in.
Cunning stuff, though i'd wager his headlight shines abit high at that angle ;)
