Its 3rd life.

Not 100% sure.

Big Kev has sold me a pair of Yoshi Tri-Ovals.
Cheers Kev, great to deal with as always.
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/7526/yoshikev.jpg

Hopefully im doing a deal with Pete for the K6 tail off his Busa fighter.
Never liked the stock Busa tail, looks like a dog dragging its arse across the carpet,
but it works well at speed, worked for the pillion, and kept the cops happy.

In the past its always needed to be legal"ish" and be my pillion bike.
The B-King is now my stock"ish" useable bike alongside the GSX1400 which
is excellent for pillions.

The Busa can have a few less restrictions to its mod's.

Never liked the stock plastic header tank so that too is on the to-do list.

In the first 2 pics it shows my front guard has been cut down.
Looks OK from the side, but from the front it sits VERY wide of the tyre.
I need to look up / remember which GSXR guard is a direct bolt on ?
Im sure one of the slim one's went straight on ?

Pete, Money transfered.
Pic coming through on my phone, very helpful. Thanks.

My current tail has some "extra" wireing, as when it went naked a couple
of things like the fuse box etc had extended leads to put them under the
pillion seat. Might need to do a couple of mod's to the loom again.

Not sure about pipes, I have a few sets of Yoshi's, suppose I could go
twin low, twin high or look at twin underseat, B-King style,
Putting K6 hangers on and keeping them similar to now is the quick easy option.

Might sacrifice a pair and make some "shorties" ?

if you duplicate the right exhaust hanger ,for the left ,you can run duals, and the angle is spot on ,hey il add the left hanger for you today,to save you the prob, off to the work shop cheers later,

BANDITROD

when i did pabs busa tail tony i moved all the leftover bit of the loom into his tail without any troubles it all still fits so you might not have to mod much

A sudden burst of interest and enthusiasm this morning and I had a tidy up and a move around.
Gave the Busa a check over, and started digging out some of my Busa spares stash.

im sure the seat mount for the front seat wont fit your frame were your seat bolts go as i trimmed a little off my frame but when you see the bracket ,youl be able to make it,a little narrower,

Hey Tony if you find out what GSXR guard is a direct swap let me know.

if your looking for a direct bolt on, gixer front guard there arnt any,ive tryed heaps of diff front guards ,the closest ive come was a k6 gixer front guard, all i had to do is drill 2x holes and fill the old holes with Qbond ,its pretty straight forward

Tony Nitrous
02-12-2012, 04:08 PM
You might be right Pete.
There are several bolt on direct fits, but for the Gen2.

Found a few folk who've fitted them with small brackets (no cutting the forks)
one made adapters from the side plates on an old chain,
or there are several slim GSXR "style" aftermarket one, normaly from the US.

Im still making inquires.

BANDITROD

its not that hard to make a diif gaurd fit with some little brackets i do it all the time

RevHead

k6 is easiest all i did was to slip it over the front wheel mark the holes with a texter ,the did the same to the rear mounts ,got out the grinder, cut, cut ,on the rear ,drilled 2x holes in the back mount and bolted it up tight
THIS WAS A HOONDA GUARD ,bike didnt like it and ejected it at 80,lol

to see what it looks like. All about to come back off.

Indicators, brake, tail and numberplate lights wired up,
New mounts made for the GSXR seat to bolt to the Busa frame.
Key'd seat lock swapped over to the GSXR tail,
slowly crossing off the little jobs......

Tony Nitrous

Still thinking.

Maybe rattle can'ing the tail to match and using it for a
while untill I can afford a full pain job.

I'd like it done nice, but got lots of other stuff that im more interested in,
like getting rid of the 6-pots and finding some more horsepower.

Still fancy getting the suspension rebuilt / better fork internals
and i'd love to try a shorter arm in the back.

What did you do with the rear brake Res when you had it Pete ?
I had to move it to get the subframe in.
Guess I can make a little "L" shape bracket and turn it through 90-degree's
unless you found a better way ?

One thing tat has always bugged me is that belly pan mate. I know it's just my opinion and tell me to stick it up my arse, but it has always made the bike look like it's in a sling to me. Maybe it's just the photos? Something more angular would suit the new tail. Maybe Pam, sorry, Trinity could sort you out something?

This looks great, I do think it would look better if the tail was pointing north a bit more.
Might be the angle but the top of the tail seems to be lower than the top of the tank.

New headlight and guard would do wonders for this bike.

Tony Nitrous
13-12-2012, 07:08 PM
Managed to fit the reg/rec into the new tail and squeeze the brake master
in too, not 100% happy so they might both get relocated. Hit it with a blue
rattle-can untill I make my mind up about paint, no rush. Had a play.
Still go's like a stripped down Busa should. Not beautiful, but very entertaining.

good job Tony,

i think i know why everyone thinks the tail is lower, because you run handle bar mounted mirrors ,that makes the front of the bike look taller ,thicker,

Tony Nitrous
13-12-2012, 07:23 PM
Thanks Pete.

Mirrors and high headligh make the front look tall.

I put the reg/rec where you said, fits and works fine,
bit concerned its not getting much air flow.
Will give it some thought.

What did you do with the rear brake master ?
Did you have the stock one ?
Its wedged in alongside the battery for now but im open
to suggestions before I extend the hose and re-route it somewhere.

RevHead
13-12-2012, 07:28 PM
For the reg rec ,see the front of the side plastics have been cut off air gets in there,um ,lol i just used the original brake master ,um and yeah ,basically jammed it in the gap i made for it,lol, never moved in 4k,

Tony Nitrous
13-12-2012, 07:35 PM
Thanks Pete.

I saw some pic's of a black Fireblade fighter recently.
It had bar end mirrors, but not the normal little one's,
they came up and the mirror was more over the grip and a decent size.
Might look for a set of them, they can always go on the Bandit if they dont suit this.
