Ok, it's about time everyone got in on this. The full members have had the run down for a while now and know what's going on but nothing is in stone for me to totally confirm other than we have definitely booked the location (and a few other major parts are about to click into place).

So the story so far goes like this:

If any of you frequent Customfighters, OSS, Streetfighter-MCC or SFOC you may already have seen this. I'll explain to the rest of you why soon:

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/images/events/AFR_08/ASF_AFR08_FP2_screen.jpg

So - It's Casino Airfield NSW:

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/46500115030654.jpg

Why?:
1. The Gladstone boys and North QLD mob have never had the chance to attend before due to shear distance.
2. The town has everything in one small area including a runway that we have all to ourselves.
3. It's close enough for me to take full control of organising the event so I can keep you up to date with all the details.
4. If Phill made it from Perth without a problem to Dubbo I don't think the location is really an issue now do you??

So far the plan is to run the full weekend with events all the way through. I have to confirm all that we are going to do as and when they are confirmed but let's just say this one should be massive.

I've announced it now so that you can make your plans and make sure the time is free and holidays are booked.

Costs? We plan on camping at the site and throwing in as much as we can for the ticket price. It's not confirmed yet but looking to be around $120 with as many runs on the 1/4 mile as you can fit in. There's extras as well if your keen. ...like stunt practise and tuition with the Trix in the Sticks mob, but as I say, this is just the seed. I'll update as and when I get more details.

We can confirm we have organised professional tyre fitters bringing burnout tyres for your bike and burn out photos and comps, Trix in the Stix Stunt guys doing their practise sessions with availability for anyone to join in if they really want to practice or get some tips, 1/4 mile drag strip for best time awards in categories and some competition bikes to show us how it's done, show and shine, possiby trade stands, full camping, live bands at the local, advice on great road rides for groups to go out plus a few more things that aren't confirmed yet - plus it's all in a beautiful beachside town to chill if you really want (or need to throw up or pass out).

Ok, now to why you'll have seen this at Customfighters, OSS, Streetfighter-MCC and SFOC - I'm trying to get them to run the AFR parallel in the states and the UK and so far they are both interested. Also Frank and the Irish boys are getting something together. The plan is to make it an international event - one day of the year where all the Streetfighter clubs/forums/groups get together and just have an awesome time and then report on how it went so that we can all see. A true 'fighter world unity!

So get yourself pumped up, ready and geared and spread the word. This is going to be the biggest yet.
Cheers guys.

Pop tents and big tarps mate. You're all set, lol

Sounds like y'all have a hella big gig planned this year. Trying to get my bunch off their ass and do something this year. The dates for us are still a bitty chilly round much of the US so we are running into a bunch of pussies that don't want to ride till the temp warms a bit. But we'll figure it out.

Hey Angel, you don't need to worry about that. I have the Gold Coast Motorcycle Tyre shop boys coming along with their tyre fitting gear plus a heap of old tyres that people can have for burning out then they'll replace your old one after. They are also talking about giving a new tyre to the competition winner.

By the way, these boys are top blokes and really look after us lot, so if you need a new tyre fitted after your ride to the AFR from wherever they are willing to take orders and bring whatever tyre you want along with them for just the price of the tyre (which will be discounted as well) and fit it and balance it for free.

Seriously good blokes!

26-01-2008, 09:23 PM
I have a couple of runs sorted for the blokes who can sober up enough to throw a leg over a bike. If its anything like last year i'm probably wasting my time. One run will be from Casino to Tenterfield and back. 250k return trip and if you dont enjoy this road you obviously need to buy a coffin and put yourself in it.The other run may be from Casino to Kyogle to Woodenbong to Casino. This ride is for the lads with strong intestinal fotitude as although the road is all sealed , part of it is a bit bumpy, but well worth the effort. All roads are patrolled by the boys in blue, but if you want to go for a blat somewhere find me and i'll point out a few areas that are not patrolled as heavily.

Sounds like a few people are scared of camping? What wrong with you all. Obviously never been to the TT or a big festival. Once you get a tent village happening it's pretty cool atmosphere. Everyone that's not in the heart of it will miss the action, a bit like trackside camping at the GP in Phillip Island.

I'm the opposite, i was thinking of staying else where, but when i heard it was a rough town, i decided i'm definately camping!! I'd rather be camping in a tent next to my bike with 100 odd others doing the same, than staying in a dodgy 2 star motel with my bike outside with a neon sign saying 'rape and pillage me please'.

On another note, just wondering what facilities there will be, i want to pack as light as possible. So far i'm thinking small tent, sleeping bag, change of clothes, and maybe some hygene shit (i usually rough it when i camp).

I'll also be looking for some kick arse streetfighter members to ride down with, i'm in Hervey Bay so i'll tag along with anyone heading south.

thought i'd keep it short;)
cheers

Drewboy,i just had a look at your bike, and it appears you wont be able to keep up with me,so you'd better hook up with Stocky.

Casino is just a typical NSW cuntry town, only poofters stay elsewhere at the AFR,as for hygene...Ozkat has only ever taken 1 pair of spare jox to the AFR and he's still sterile,(is that the appropriate word?)

Iceman
07-02-2008, 12:18 AM
If there's one thing I've learnt from the past two AFRs, it's that they's not enough hours in the day to catch up and have a beer with everyone. If you had to take time out to commute back and forth from a motel and spent time sleeping at that motel, you might as well just buy the DVD and watch it at home. The whole point of have a campsite is to unite the masses.

Did I miss something ?

Ahh Drew. Welcome to Davo. He's been away for a while but it's good to have him back. He's the biggest piss taker on the board and used to keep people on thier toes. You're not familiar with his work. He's taking the piss mate. He'll be up for a group ride for sure - they all will1

The camping bit is all good by me... ***insert memories of Bathurst riots and Fillup island MotoGP camping here*** But the "minister for everything" don't camp, sooooo..... I'll be extra sweet-talking her for me to do a solo ride and at least one night stay.....

I'm working on it......

Speaking of the Bathurst riots, i was there when they threw flaming toilet rolls at the cop compound and some girl got lost and drove through the wrong crowd so thew draged her out and set fire to her VW.

Now THATS camping :D
