I'm working on it......
Yeah, i had to do the same, so i'd have enough room for my gear. But the other half wasn't to keen to sit on the back for the 5-6 odd hours it will take to ride there, so mission accomplished!!

What if one wishes to attend the AFR but does not wish to partake in the time trials? Are they still required to sign the indemnity forms? And what safety gear would need to be worn if one was to run their bike in the TT's? Full leathers etc? Ta.

Ok lads, here it is basically:
Riding a motorcycle during this time trial event on an open airstrip is a dangerous sport.
The participant is fully responsible for their own actions at all times during the event.
The participant will not act in a reckless or irresponsible manner at any time during the event.
Motor vehicle insurance is not valid during the event. Any and all damage caused by the participant to any vehicle, property or participant/event staff member will be wholly the participants responsibility.
The participant shall not be entitled to substitute, nominate or allow another rider to ride in any event, joyride or take the place of the participant at any time during this event.
The participant is under control of the event staff at all times during the event and will follow their direction in all matters at all times during the event.
If, for any reason, the participant is directed to evacuate from the airstrip boundaries by any event staff member they will do so in a calm and expeditious manner as demonstrated by event staff on the day.
ALL participants will have a zero blood alcohol level at all times during the event.
There is to be no alcohol consumed at any time by participants during time trial or stunt events. Random alcohol breath tests will be carried out during the event by event staff. All participants will submit to an alcohol breath test.
All motorcycles participating in this event must be in a safe and serviceable condition. This includes, but is not limited to, no fluid leaks of any sort, correct chain tension, serviceable tyres, and no loose or dangerous items. Event staff will conduct random inspections during the event and any motorcycle found to be unsatisfactory will not be allowed to participate.
The participant acknowledges that they have had their vehicle serviced, repaired and checked by an appropriately qualified person who warrants that the vehicle is serviceable and in good condition to take part in this event.
All participants are to wear appropriate safety equipment including a full-face safety helmet, leather motorcycle jacket, motorcycle gloves, leather motorcycle trousers (Draggin type jeans are also acceptable), fully enclosed ankle-high boots with no loose laces.
This motor vehicle event will, at times, be noisy. Anyone with concerns about the level of noise should bring earplugs/earmuffs.
There will be minimal shade available for the duration of the event. AUSFR recommends that all participants bring a minimum of a broad-brimmed hat and plenty of sunscreen.
The participant shall be responsible for the conduct, behaviour and actions of all of the participants guests.
This contract must be signed before acceptance to the event will be considered.
Signature of this contract does not guarantee acceptance to the event.
There will be no refund of fees paid for any reason.
Failure to comply with any of the above points will result in my being removed from the premises immediately.
Decisions made by event staff are final. No discussion will be entered into.
The participant hereby releases AUSFR, its stewards, staff and agents from and against all claims for, expenses, legal costs, personal injury, damage and injury to personal property and theft of personal property and all other claims, and the participant hereby indemnifies AUSFR from and against all amounts claimed by the participant, their executives, administrators and all other third parties claimed on the participants behalf.
This agreement shall bind the participant, their executing administrators and assigns any and all third party claims to the participant.
Security of personal possesions / belongings is the responsibility of the individual within all areas of the event including the main airfield and camping areas. The organisers hold no responsibility for any theft from anywhere on the site.
Sickboy - the signing is for everybody even if you don't do time trilas as it requires that NOBODY is pissed on the track or endangering others - plus a few other things listed there.
Jim - see above "full-face safety helmet, leather motorcycle jacket, motorcycle gloves, leather motorcycle trousers (Draggin type jeans are also acceptable), fully enclosed ankle-high boots with no loose laces."
Danger750 - I'll be down there a few days early and I know some others are leaving on Friday. Try starting a topic in the SE QLD meeting and events (http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=17) titled something like "Brisbane riders leaving on Saturday morning for AFR" or similar to get the ride sorted. Oh, and by the way, welcome aboard.

Point A.... Dont have leather jeans. Not even when I run at WillowBank.

It seems to have gone a bit quiet around here guys....
Let me kick it off again by reminding you all that the weekend package cost of $120 is only valid until the 14th of March, which is only 2 weeks away. After that you will pay an extra $40 for the ticket.
We have heard lots of people saying that they are coming along, but to date the number of paid-up confirmations is LOW. It's now time to get your brain into gear and commit the funds ASAP. We MUST have a confirmed minimum number by the above date to justify the event.
The other point I need to make is that I have had a lot of non-forum interest, but not many people realise that they need to pre-book. One example of this is the hour-long phone call I had last night with a nice bloke from the Gold Coast who intended to roll up with about 10 mates on the day with a sleeping bag strapped to his very tasty 7/12... If you know of anyone who intends to come along then make sure tell them to either log on or get in touch with me on 0415 903 463 (a lot of people don't have/like email/internet) to book their tickets before the 14th March.
This should be a massive event - lets not stuff it up through our own apathy, eh?

o.k, will pay for my ticket this Friday if someone can give me the payment details: (theflanagans@aapt.net.au). have been telling everyone i know, but it seems they want to be spectators, pussy's. as for the town being rough it's not really that bad, mainly school kids causing trouble, hence the fight that was on u tube last week.
if any one is really not into the camping thing i live 35 mins away and if you don't mind crashing on the floor of a half renovated house your more than welcome, i've got a huge area downstairs and a few old beds. i was thinking of camping but the missus isn't keen on that idea.
i assume that we only have to wear the leathers whilst partaking in the tt and stunts? have a textile jacket i usually wear, leathers is way to hot.

does anyone want me to contact the local paper(northern star) and see if they want to do a story bout the fools run in there motor section? someone might have done it i don't know but it would help to get a lot more spectators there, word of mouth can be slow here in the sticks. every time another rich family moves here they get a full page story on how many houses they've bought, i think the run should take preference over that...
also, do we know what day the burnout comp is gonna be, just so i can let the family know which day to come?

Yea, sorry Tony. As usual trying to finalise everything. As for your list above:
DYNO - Yep. Dyno Dynamics' mobile Dyno is coming up from Melbourne escorted by Ivan and his cheif operator mate. Have to organise what they want to do, but I'm thinking along the lines of a free run for full weekend pass holders and a small fee for all others to cover the operators expenses and time. They will let us know nearer the time.
TYRE FITTERS - Yep. Gold Coast Bike Tyres will be there with all their gear and a pile of slow puncture tyres to burnout and some brand new ones for anyone that needs new rubber. The guys will fit burnout tyres for whoever wants them and replace your original tyre afterwards. As I mentioned before, the guys will do discounted brand new tyres, fitted to order on the weekend if you give me the details of what you require prior to the event, a few of you have already taken advantage of this but if anyone else wants some tell me soon. They will hold it for you until you want it fitted or for the ride home or whatever.
Food - Yep. We have catering vans plus the club house for meals over the entire weekend. I think there may even be a dedicated BBQ area if you're feeling all "family picnic".
Alki-hole - undecided. This one is a tough one. The local pub is run by a member's sister-in-law so they may set up a temp liquor licence, otherwise it may be a bring your own. This is coudy and one of the things we still have to get in place.
Bands - Still finalising exactly which bands but looks as though we have "Grendel" for the two nights and a bunch of bands for the Saturday night, plus DJ.
Stunters - Last news was Front Up Freestyle are coming, as well as Lukey Luke, El Sammo, A few Cunningstunts guys and a few private mental cases.
Show-Pony's - well, that will probably sum up a good percentage of the attendees. You will get to see Judge being thrashed up and down the strip as well.
We also got news that AMCN will be doing a feature on it so you'll see them about and get your mugshot in the paper.

In answer to Tony's post in the member's area I thought I should put it here as well:
There is a 32m x 11m marquee holding the show n shine and anyone is allowed to enter, they just need to register and be up for the trophy in their class.
Do you reckon we can get more than 127 bikes together at the same time to do a burnout? IF you can do that we would have the most bikes in a burnout world record. The guys at bike and music weekend in Germany didn't bother last year after they got the record the year before because there have been no challengers. Are we challengers?

Si, other assorted motorcycle riders and Davo, I've talked to my nephew about the lickher licence and he hasn't called me back so I'm guessing it's not a goer. There is a bottleshop within stubby throwing distance of the site so takeaways seem the logical solution. Coolite eskies from a local shop would be the obvious way to keep things cool. There are two motels within walking distance to the site and they are both $140 a night for a family room. Casino Motor Inn, 91 Hare St, is the closest, 0266621777, River Park Motor Inn,123 Centre St,0266622999, comes in a close second. The Commercial Hotel, 74 Walker St, 0266621007, has rooms,as do most of the other pubs in town, so if dont want to roll over and squash your morning fat into the hard ground you had better find yourselves a soft bed. If anyone needs any more details about Casino feel free to email me direct and I'll do the best to help you

As for full weekend numbers it's growing by the day, but the one day-ers are going to be numerous as well. Everyone leaves tickets to the last minute so with a deadline of 14th March for the $120 tickets I reckon next week will see an influx again. After March 14th they go to standard weekend gate prices of $160.

Just a thought......
Streetfighters Mag-166 Dec 07
At the Wheelie Comp / Top Speed event they mentioned that
the top 35 of the "TOP SPEED" run's were by faired bikes,
fair enough, no surprise.
....but the Fastest UNFAIRED bike was a Weslake-850 that
ran the lights at 139.6mph or 223.4 kph
Unless the Speedo's on Both the Busa and B-King are waaaaay
out these sort of speeds are not unachievable.....;)
Dont think the B-K is much slower than my old Bus and that
pulled 135mph / 216kph in just the standing quarter mile.
There are LOTS of bikes out there, Ben's and Pete's spring
to mind first, that would walk all over mine...
Mmmmmmm...........
How long's Casino runway...;)

[quote]Hey tony was that through the lions road from rathdowney to kyogle? that's turning left at the pub/servo at rathdowny. brilliant bit of road especially the second half.
No, it had been shut because of road-wash out's in the
weeks before so we went through Rathdowny and carried on.
I think it may be open agaun now.
Done it several times with a few of the local boys.
Bit F*ck*n' hairy when you turn the noise up on the Busa...:D

I know if I dont get to go to this I will have to stay inside the house all day. I live in beaudesert so seeing everyone come through town would cause furious muttering and stomping around like a 4yo chucking a tantrum.
Im thinkin of heading down saturday but not 100% yet(depends if I work overtime on saturday). I'd like to take the 250 for a ride down but all my mates are piking out! "my bike is not cool enough" they say.. to which i reply.. "look at my heap of shit !! " lol- only goin to watch anyway im still gumby as

All participants are to wear appropriate safety equipment including a full-face safety helmet, leather motorcycle jacket, motorcycle gloves, leather motorcycle trousers (Draggin type jeans are also acceptable), fully enclosed ankle-high boots with no loose laces.

Do they not watch footy 'cos they're not as good as the Stars ?
not watch movie's 'cos they are not great actors ?
Im leaving a naked Busa at home and riding a bog-stock bike.

just got home from first day at afr, weather was good, looked like rain this morning on our trip to drake but rain obviously can't do over 200kph, hotted up the rest of the day, stunts were awesome with only a few minor spills, drag racing was wicked but the timing system wasn't working so no e.t.'s, hope they fix it tomorrow, wish youse were here[:p]
Yeah it was a shame about the timing issue as i was really wanting to get a print out and see where the shitfighter is at.
And i didnt win one drag race :( guess thats what happens when you have no fairings and only 600cc.
But was an absolute hoot.
Stunts were awesome, and all day long.
Ohhhh, and i cant get the smell of burnt rubber out of my hair, clothes, skin, its friggin everywhere.... excellent.
Ohhh and Stu it was me that the people were complaining about :( im sorry, though in my defence all i did was rev it as i left.
