I got a few scratches on the GSXR fairing when I dropped it off the fuxing stand. So I pulled the fairing off today...and decided to keep going for a bit.:)
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/6748/img2129wv3.jpg

I got an ABM "Comfort Kit" a while back (while I was pissed and surfing one night :D)so I thought I'd see how it looks..
http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/7343/img2132pr8.jpg

The plan was to use something like this, but make a small fairing out of cf to finish it off a bit

That's the idea. I love the power and smoothness of the big gixxer...but it's fucking uncormfortable on longish rides.

I did a 450k Lithgow-Oberon-Jenolan loop one day and I had to stop every 10 minutes coming back down Bells LOR...but the 1125k in two days on the Kat for the AFR was no worries.

Meh...just cracked another bottle of shiraz. Time to do some thinking:D[^]

What sort of a question is "Should I"? Should I my arse. Just do it! You know you want it. Unless you're dragging knees and racing people you'll hardly miss the clip-ons and fairings.

I got a really good deal.

I was going to buy one from you at 399 (+25 because it's suzuki an more exxy) but then I looked and they were back to 499 just for the yoke.

I got the whole "comfort kit" - including brake lines and some brackets etc for 185 pounds inc delivery or about 460 bux because sfs were having a sale.

That was about 30% less than your list price...and I'd be embarrased asking.:)

The brake master cylinder hits the fork adjusters...

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/27361991354074.JPG

So

Taller bars?
Taller risers?
Wider bars (might cause cable probs)
Different master cyl?

Yeah, I would have thought taller bars would be the way to go?
How much lift do you need ?
Looks like only 7 or 8mm ?

Then again....
Is it only just touching when you tighten it up ?
or is it stopping it clamping up where it wants to be ?

I'd have come as close as I could (pretty close to that price..) and that would have included stainless fitted brakelines - not alloy ones. I don't like seeing guys go to SFS for parts as that guy fucked me over completely, I'd hate to think of him doing it to someone else!:(
As for the risers - Either fit 50mm risers (looks like you've 30mm's as standard there) or angled adaptors - that should do it. Or you could fit some recurved bars (I've got the 'streetbars' in blue - they're still quite flat) or stop fucking around and fit fatbars![8D][8D]

quick fix might be an elbow extender fitting type thing!!!! from a En-Z or similiar... untill you can afford a new master.... or check all your mates bikes and get one from wreckers that works...

Things like that happen to me all the damm fucking time.

good luck.

u could just go to a stardard style brake-line setup?

im sure someone here would buy the dual ones
u could also jigsaw out some 3mm aluminium or stainless sheet and put it between the bar clamps and the triple?
maybe bend it around to mount gauges off?

or u could just go fuck yourself :D

ps- i guess u cant just slide your grip along a bit and move it all out a touch?
pps- 2nd light is the goer IMO
ppps- you really should go fuck yourself [:P]

24-07-2006, 07:07 PM
Lardge, send me some dimensions and i'll make you some riser risers. I stock all alloy flat bar from : 1.6x50mm to 12x50mm or if ya wanna post me a template i'll machine em to the shape of the riser bases.

Thanks Dave, they came with some drawings so I'll see if I can dig them up.

fimp,

I did think of making some spacers out of 5mm alloy. Maybe the simplest way is to put some cut down streetbars on it...

ps no the grip is overhanging the end already
pps yeah i like it too. not sure of the availability
ppps don't ever forget you started it:D

Well I took the easy way an bolted on a set of the ABM streetbars. Just need to be trimmed down an inch or two, and some bar end mirrors and a headlight and it's gtg
