Try the day before or the day after.

Where are you getting the ferry from? There's 2 (or 3?) places in Britain and 1 in Ireland to get a ferry...shop around.

Are you walking, riding or driving on.?

Heysham or Liverpool are the ports that Steam Packet run from: http://www.steam-packet.com/

It's shit fight every year and you need to get in ASAP. Don't be surprised if you only manage to get a 3am ferry. That's the only time we've managed on the last 3 occasions.

Are you foot passengers or will you have bikes? Foot will be easy, Bikes, well, that's a different matter.

As Large says, you can't be choosy with the dates. You may have to go a day early or later as he said.

Just did a search on Steam Packet and got 4 available for the 1st; 2 from Heysham and 2 from Liverpool.

That was Foot Passenger though.

With Bike you're fucked until the 3rd. Maybe try earlier.

People book the ferry as they get off it the year before. You've gotta be fast if you want to take a bike.

I saw 2 blokes on the standby list with bikes at Liverpool when I went.

Both got on.

Yea, maybe a trip to Ireland is in order and then go from there?

And now I think about it, what Large said worked when I was last there as well, but it's a bit of a risk if they say no ater you've waited. To be honest I reckon they'd fit a couple of bikes on no matter what if you were there ready to go and had money in your hand.

Strap yourself in tight Wayne. If Frank starts talking about Bum Races, and the Wun, Toe, Tree pint races start, write the next day off.

Hehe.
When i was a chef i used to work with a bloke from Dublin. " I need turdy tree lobster termidors, Mikey" "Fook off!"
and when he had that special birthday " How old are ya, Mikey?" "Turdy Tree, Fook Off!"
