So I was bored tonight and wanted more streetfighter reading and browsing. I finally decided to join up. Browsed a few times before as a non member.

My name is Erik, I'm from Alberta, Canada. Hopefully you all will let me hang out and get inspiration from your site. I love tinkering with bikes and the whole fighter style is my preference.

My first fighteresque possible cafe racer bike build was a 1981 gs750

Welcome, I was just over in Canaida at whistler for 3 weeks. Saw plenty of hardleys and not too many sportsbikes.

Thats the way to do it. I worked at a custom paint and fabrication shop for 8 years, So I do it all myself as well. Just started at a machine shop now so hopefully learn how to do more myself too.

Not exactly a fighter and not everyones cup of tea but this was my last lifer project at the custom shop. More pic whoring.

Started out like this.

Cut the rear fender and extended it a little too.

After all was said and done with huge flake and rootbeer candy and some pinstriping/goldleafing

craftsman-ship is a dyeing art well done ,to many people prefer the easy way out ,but hand built is the only way,

yeah and its cheaper to buy something already mass produced than to pay someone by the hour to make a one off piece. But once in a while that right customer comes along that has money and wants to spend it.

Been there, done that, Pete.

You seem to think (and say) that you are the best rider and bike builder around and then have the audacity to say everyone else is just a keyboard warrior. All you do here is talk yourself up and then get all bent out of shape when people call you on it.
You need to lighten up and stop taking everything so seriously.

Well said Dan.

Nice work Erki not my taste but nice work all the same.
I take it this was made by your old work? as its of a different caliber to your other builds.

Yeah I did that at work. I don't have the patience To do that much work on my own builds.would rather just ride. But still have it look somewhat custom or unique. Maybe if it was a second bike that I wasn't itching to ride when finished.

Well, in this statement il point out that i buid and paint all my own gear, yes ive been there and done it,all, mate! I dont claim to be the best rider as i generally chase, timtams, mono, craig, magoo, nick, nudie,Ben, and many more no matter which bunch on guys i ride with its about fun ,i do get bent out of shape when you and others only put shit on what i build ,constant rude, snide ,smart re-marks,as the people whom post these re-marks,never post to be helpful only hurtful, i would offer and have so given my services for free to fix broken fighters and paint a lot of them as well for next to nothing to help out a brother ,i never ask for a hand and never expect anything for free ,so go on judge me ,like how you judged me after nfr 2010 even though the person who was yelling over everyone was infact another member ,not me as i sat quiet drinking chatting to Steve n keiren ,and listening to every ones tails of riding experience cheers
