I'm hatching a plan to do up a CB1300.

I want to put a USD front end with radial brakes on it. Any suggestions for the best front to fit the big girl would be most appreciated

I've ridden a few Gen2 Busa's and own a B-King.
Love the front end, USD's, chunky, excellent radial
brakes. All parts swap between a Gen2 and a King,
only difference is the spring rate and some parts colour / finish.

Complete front end's out of the US are much better
value than anything I've found here unless someone
will do you "mates rates".

Personaly if you doing a front end swap I wouldnt
bother with a Gen1 and its 6-plops, go radial as you said.

I'd have a look at other Honda models first, maybe a cbr1000rr.

First two things you need to think of is
Fork length and spring rate
If u dont mind changing rake trail and hight length is easy
if u don't you are looking at fork extensions or of set top yoke
2 nd spring rate with the diff in weight between bikes
not so much a prob because most sports bike are stiffer but u have up to 50 kg diff
When I looked at mine I looked at busa or kwaka 1400
Easiest way to fit IMHO is just to have a stem machined to suit yr bike and yokes
then the whole lot bolts in

Busa/King are both on the heavy side,
funny enough the lighter Busa has firmer front suspension than the heavier King.
Unlikely you'd want clip-on's so a new top yolk with riser's could be
made "stepped" down to hold the shorter forks, same as Ben sells.

Weight wise I think ZX14 Busa etc would be around the same weight as a CB maybe even lighter.

Bear in mind that to get the most out of the conversion you will need to have the forks worked.

I spoke to a guy at promecha a while ago about doing the ZRX with a ZX14 front or working the current forks, and his recommendation was to stick with the current forks revalve and respring as the ZX14 forks would need work anyway. In his opinion the ZRX forks would be better than some unsorted ZX14 forks.
