Broke something in my clutch yesterday that required the removal of the clutch basket but I needed a rattle gun.
Ive got a compressor but its not huge and my air gun is prehistoric so I decided to lash out.

Went to Bunnings and bought the Ryobi 18V Lithium Ion impact wrench.
With a battery and a quick charger which will charge a dead flat battery to full charge in 60 mins it cost $250...

This thing is magic. Gets the wheel nuts off the fourby so I could rotate the tires, got the clutch basket out no probs and has a very good trigger meaning you can screw in bolts without having to actually rattle them. (Like a power drill)
Comes in 1/2 drive with an attachment that allows you to use bits with hex heds (Like those exchangeable screw drivers)

Highly recommended for the workshop.

I was quite cautious of the Ryobi 18V tools.
thought they were very "budget" end.
Sure they're not proffesional / tradies quality but they're still not bad.

I had some of the old ni-cad one's but now have changed all to 18v lithium.
Drill,
Hammer drill,
torch,
circular saw,
large portable fan,
angle grinder,
half inch drive hammer gun,
etc etc.

Like the more upmarket brands,
the batteries / chargers all interchange.

I know there's better out there, and i dont take mine to work,
(we use Dewalt and Milwaukee) but I consider Ryobi fine for
occasional home use.

got a bunch of the 18v ryobi gear
+1 for the bigger rattle gun, there is a smaller option but dont know why u'd bother ;)

the little sander's a winner, been working mine hard all year
cordless grinder is awesome but chews batteries in about the same time it takes to charge em, lol

That's a good price on that too , I got myself the big snap on bastard , is a good piece of gear but the price was painful , but once you get good battery power you'll never want to drag a airline around again

I hear Bunnings is the sole suppler of Ryobi from now.....as for snapon,
A 4 x 8 Drake I was pulling around a few years ago,was in the yard getting new adjusters fitted & brake shoes replaced etc, well we dropped the trailer off the jacks & we were wondering why one wheel set was still in the air...Looked under & here was the fitters brand new snapon cordless rattle gun holding up a shit load of trailer off the ground!Got it out & it still worked a charm, testament to the quality of this gear....

Mrs just came home from Bunnings.

Bought a Ryobi 18V whipper-snipper and leaf blower package.

I havent looked at the Ryobi garden tools as I thought they'd
be too tame compared to the normal petrol versions.

Whipped snipper is OK, nowhere near as fierce as a petrol
but OK for the two or 3 little bits I do,

Leaf blower is alright. Did the deck, paved area and blew out
the shed.

Good bit for me is it came with another charger and a larger
2.4ah Lithium battery (I normaly use the lighter 1.4ah) that
fits all my current Ryobi tools.

Not much to see Kev,
most of my gear and the quality kit is at work.
Got about 17 bits of Ryobi stuff (including batteries and chargers)
that I leave at home for domestic / light jobs.....

Usually I go for Makita or AEG battery tools but Jo brought home some Ryobi stuff and I have to say it's pretty damn good and exceptional value. Jig saw is more jig than saw so might stick with the Dewalt there but circular, reciprocating saws are great, impact driver and drill are very good and dare I say the angle grinder is worth the dollars too. I may just be a convert to the interchangeable budget line.

My old work supplied kit was hitachi, good gear (I didn't break it, and tryed a little) 3Ah is the way to start the 1.5's are kids stuff with the power suckers like grinders.
