Well.... it's 7 years (holy crap) since Bladerod was built and about damn time I built something else. Started on a TL1000S, but that all went to crap and to be honest it was a bad bike with too much wrong with it anyway. Little Large now owns it and is making it good with the 46,000 TLS parts he owns.

Anyway, here's my 98 Blade I bought in 09 and rode around with fairings until just before AFR last year. Wanted to go further with it, yet I know my own limits as to what I can do on a bike I'd enlisted the local guru, EXBEN. Hoping to have something nice, little bit blingy, but still subtle, yet somewhat nutty to ride.

not cnc(no cut marks)
not fabbed (or the welds at seam really bended well)
my quess is formed but need better look to see how
really my quess is both fab and form but prob useing a cnc plug lol

Looks to be CNC'd then partly polished, Too clean to be welded or formed on a wheel
Does not take long to polish aluminium up from a machined finish

The idea with this plenum was to go with a CNC'd base & a fabbed top, I didn't want to just have a flat lid so I went around to a mates shop & had a go on his english wheel to put some shape in the lid. Then I fabbed some sides, welded them on inside & out, then smoothed the outside off, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

ok, more progress, went in and did the bitch jobs last night, cleaning etc, but also fitted the new clutch and a few other bits and pieces. Ben mounted the Dyna and voltage reg on the subframe as well as getting the triples sorted. Most probably going to anodise the forks black. I like the gold, but there's a few scratches and marks, so it's work redoing them. Black will probably look tougher though.

Dyna will allow us to run a curve with boost retard run by a Hobbs switch

hey boxer , looking good , question - what are the clutch springs they look pretty heavy duty compared to the originals , its just the cbr ones fit the vfr and some heavy dutys later down the tack are something ill be chasing
