Not that I'm about to jump into anything, but from time to time I've thought about a ZRX with a blower :D, turbo chargers in general appear to be easier, but I grew up with supercharged cars around and I prefer the power.

If anyone knows of anyone that has used the snail look superchargers on a bike?
How hard/costly is it to get the crank extended for the drive?
Is it possible to have a direct drive, like a direct gear drive?
What about engine management, is there a lot required?
I wouldn't use EFI, carbs are the way.
The above link is some serious bike$$$
I'm not talking huge power, 160 rwhp would be sufficent, low boost to maintain reliability.

Mind you in 2009 he was trying to offload that zrx with 3300 miles and a rebuild....

Yeah I've seen stuff like that, thing is it's a bit easier on the Busa etc due to EFI

Crank extension is not too hard, some custom parts and that is easy.
Carbie mods the same as for turbo..
Fitting a centrifugal supercharger on the bike .. hard ..
Rotrex are a nice compact unit but exy ..
Roots blowers have been done and fairly well .. M60 or M90 rings a bell.
They run idle valves tho, which means the blower is no good at low rpm ..

Blowers are also rad as Fuck ...

sc14 postive displacement toyota blower , mucked around with one on a turbo pulsar i had , capable of 13psi all day , not a nice sounding blower though , there was a smaller version sc12 off the 4agze toyota and then even smaller ones on the nissan march , the pulsar was turbo efi in the beginning in the end it was blown blow through throttle body style with a blow off valve to relief the throttle closed situations have been thinking myself that one would sit nicely in the valley of the v4 vfr suck through carby style

blowers are good but low boost the amount of power lost to drive it to what you gain turbos will always win in the efficency battle and the power is down low and lost at the top with rootes style where as the centrifical seems to be better at the top

There was a blown VTR1000F in the aussie streetfighters mag, maybe 2002, wish I still had the mag.
I'm pretty sure there was't any spare room.
Anyone got that magazine?

One of these is the cheap way to get into centrifical superchargers , its off a seadoo. Factory they spin at 48,000 rpm max producing 8 psi into the 1.8L motor.
I'm far from finished my setup.

i had a little toyota blower on a vr ,when switched on it was fun,but didnt give the car the gains im thinking of for my busa

I've got the SC14 on my old VL RB30, it makes great gains in low down torque, and assists the top end too. It runs around 6psi, instant push, but spinning one of these things too fast will have them either disintegrating, or heating the compressed air to the point they are useless. But 1400cc of air every revolution makes them good for about 14lbs of boost on a 1to1 pully system, on a 1200-1400cc bike engine...up to around 10,000rpms max on the blower. A good,cheap blower, but a Sprintex or similar makes a mockery of them.
Mine has been running for ten years, and is still as good today as the day I installed it, AND you can turn it off!! Not that I ever do...

Pritty spot on , I've got a few sc14's here once over 10psi they become real inifiecent. Take about 40hp to turn them, prob a little big n heavy for a sports bike. Anything more than about 200kw and they just wont flow enough cool air, mates vn com is putting out about 215 kw at the tyres with one on it. But its really on the edge of destruction. You can get smaller roots chargers amr500 for instance

Wont give you heaps of boost on anything big though.

They will flow about 215kw air stock , you can work them for more output with wheels and housings avalable from the states. Or just spin them a little faster.
